Move to a state that doesn't think it needs to be a nanny to you on everything you do. It'd be easier to list what California DOESN'T regulate than what it does. You: [-o< "Can I make this modification that will improve everything about this car, including lowering every measurable type of pollutio...

Welcome to the forum. Looks like a great buy. Since it has high mileage anyway, why not drive it home yourself? I second the welcomes extended and offer this reply to Pod. Because it's 2300 miles from Eureka, CA and the DEAD of winter here on the North American continent. 2 days ago the upper midwe...

Re: ABS sensors not made by BMW??

Alas, The likely culprit in my case is the front right sensor and that connector crumbled to itty bitty pieces when the individual put in charge of swapping the OEM struts for new Bilstein units, dis-connected and then re-connected the abs. (Yeah, I know, it wasn't necessary to do that, don't get m...

Re: ABS sensors not made by BMW??

Hey Brucey & Craig, What about coming at this from the other direction? Who else used that same ABS module? The logic here being, IF they used the same module then the connectors will be identical and we can look for proper length cables and the right insertion setup. Keep the shiny side up Phillip

Re: ABS sensors not made by BMW??

Hey Brucey? According to Piotr, "the male connector you can source from BOSCH 0265007527 and the female connector from 0265006383. In Poland you can easily buy used Renault sensor for 5USD as a source of connector, then just cut it and solder in place of your broken connector in your wire harness o...

ABS sensors not made by BMW??

Okay so, the ABS light is on, and finding the version made for the E24 is stupid difficult. I've investigated sourcing unit/s made for the E23 (that seems possible since those aren't NLA) While the rear units are available for the E24, the front (which I'm pretty sure are the culprit/s in my case) ...

Re: Good things begin on Jan. 12, 2009!!

Update! Okay, first, thanks to jps635 and Tommy for helpful and kind words. Danke! And now to the next order of business. After driving Grace, Doug Park commented that the single best thing I could do to improve engine performance was to "chip" Grace. Furthermore, he pointed me to speednutz on ebay...

Re: Exactly how much refrigerant?

Mine never had any stickers since I got the car, wondering the same for my M635CSi as I had to take out the condensor so pretty much at a loss as you are on how much to fill it with once it's all back together. Stoffie? Doug Park, (the gentleman working on Grace) had an M635 and his was 1400grams, ...

Re: Exactly how much refrigerant?

Thanks Pod! Stoffie, I don't know what differences (if any) there are and that's why I'm asking the brain trust. The only dumb question is the one you don't ask, yes? My original stickers are long gone, since I re-did the hood insulation and I never got replacements. I probably should see to that. ...

Re: Exactly how much refrigerant?

2 questions: 1) Has your ac system been converted to r134 or are you running r12? 2) Not related but I noticed you have an Ireland Engineering exhaust. What has your experience been with it? EdwasRed, My a/c sys is running r12 for the simple expedient that it passed 2 fifteen minute vacuum tests wi...

Re: Good things begin on Jan. 12, 2009!!

Okay then! Mr. Doug Park has partially charged my a/c and folks it works! With 2 12oz cans it brings the air blasting from the vents down to 55 degrees Fahrenheit, that's 12 degrees celsius for our fellows across various seas. Elsewhere in the engine electrical section (because I wasn't sure where ...

Exactly how much refrigerant?

Okay,

I looked here there and EVERY-blessed-WHERE but I can't find out how many oz of refrigerant it takes to fill my Euro system. (and no, it has no rear cooler) My mechanic says his M635 was 1400 grams which just over 42 oz, I think.
