Re: What DO the prices (on BaT) mean?

Dave, My observations on BaT lead me to the conclusion that if you want to sell a Canadian car for good money, you'll (unfortunately) need to get it over the border first. There is an inexplicable hesitancy on the part of U.S. bidders to buy an 'international' car. I know that it's really no big th...

What DO the prices (on BaT) mean?

I don't know how many of you are inveterate car porn addicts -as I am- who pour over the offerings on Bringatrailer.com to see the latest offerings from various collections. Most recently a 1988 M6 in Cinnabar with 31K miles on the clock sold for $87,000.00 USD, that's 127,903 in Australian dollars...

Re: Which Bilstein struts?

Hey smtguy! As someone who had decorative stock shocks (for far too long) on Grace, I'm here to tell you that I went with the B4 (touring) and they are anything but cushy. They give a firm ride that (depending upon whether you're running a 16, 17 or God forbid, an 18" wheel) will provide you with a...

Thanks Shipper! Yeah, you're a bit more focused than I plan to be. I already have my aftermarket, (Ireland) cat back muffler set up. Great exhaust note by the way. And I already have a 3.73 medium case LSD dif. I'll be going with a 260/6 5 speed mated to the M30B35 with a lightened flywheel. I'll h...

Move to a state that doesn't think it needs to be a nanny to you on everything you do. It'd be easier to list what California DOESN'T regulate than what it does. You: [-o< "Can I make this modification that will improve everything about this car, including lowering every measurable type of pollutio...

Welcome to the forum. Looks like a great buy. Since it has high mileage anyway, why not drive it home yourself? I second the welcomes extended and offer this reply to Pod. Because it's 2300 miles from Eureka, CA and the DEAD of winter here on the North American continent. 2 days ago the upper midwe...

Re: ABS sensors not made by BMW??

Alas, The likely culprit in my case is the front right sensor and that connector crumbled to itty bitty pieces when the individual put in charge of swapping the OEM struts for new Bilstein units, dis-connected and then re-connected the abs. (Yeah, I know, it wasn't necessary to do that, don't get m...

Re: ABS sensors not made by BMW??

Hey Brucey & Craig, What about coming at this from the other direction? Who else used that same ABS module? The logic here being, IF they used the same module then the connectors will be identical and we can look for proper length cables and the right insertion setup. Keep the shiny side up Phillip

Hey Brucey? According to Piotr, "the male connector you can source from BOSCH 0265007527 and the female connector from 0265006383. In Poland you can easily buy used Renault sensor for 5USD as a source of connector, then just cut it and solder in place of your broken connector in your wire harness o...

ABS sensors not made by BMW??

Okay so, the ABS light is on, and finding the version made for the E24 is stupid difficult. I've investigated sourcing unit/s made for the E23 (that seems possible since those aren't NLA) While the rear units are available for the E24, the front (which I'm pretty sure are the culprit/s in my case) ...

Update! Okay, first, thanks to jps635 and Tommy for helpful and kind words. Danke! And now to the next order of business. Re: Exactly how much refrigerant?

Mine never had any stickers since I got the car, wondering the same for my M635CSi as I had to take out the condensor so pretty much at a loss as you are on how much to fill it with once it's all back together. Stoffie? Doug Park, (the gentleman working on Grace) had an M635 and his was 1400grams, ...
