All that did not yield any success so I cut the swivel off on the bottom and inserted a flathead screw driver to get the stump out.

Yes you are! You can actually take the outer frame for the panel off, connect, and put it back in. I too fell for that long time ago and almost qualified as a contortionist

It may not be the blower switch. Have you tried the blower in AC and regular mode? If you can regulate the speed in one and not the other mode, it's not the switch but the sensor in the blower housing

Please tell me that you did not list the part number for this relay. A few of those relay's are inter changeable.

Kind of hard to tell but it is one of the two clinging on the outside on your fuse box. Check the prongs on them. The one which has 4 prongs is it
