Re: LED lighting "upgrade"
Hey Bobbo! Thanks for directing my (limited) attention to this post. I have heard many of the same complaints Re: LED swaps, LED Blinkers / Blinker Relays, etc. ^ Ditto on the ground weaknesses; I hear that a lot. Some mixed marriages work out fine, but others ...well you know. Glad you still like t...

Re: dash cluster connector
Thanks for the offer! I will contact the customer and see if they agree to the minor cost, I suspect 'YES' will be their answer.
I'll get in touch with you by phone after we have lunch - going up the hill to try a new BBQ place - they smoke DUCK!

dash cluster connector
I am in need of a terminal from the instrument cluster connector - the blue on specifically. My hope is that someone has 'de-wired' a six before sending it off to the graveyard, and might have this connector still in the harness. See picture below... BMW has discontinued this particular bit, as you ...

Ralph - glad you are happy with them. I have to assume (a) the mechanic is not comfortable shoving on the studs, or (b) they're stuck beyond what normal adhesion has made them, and (c) not sure how familiar they are with the E24. Plus, former owners have been known to use sealant to stop leaking, I ...

REBOOT - this is a relevant subject for one of my restoration / upgrade rear light sets... Customer says their mechanic cannot remove the rear lenses to replace the reflectors with a restored set just purchased from me... Maybe he doesn't have to! So maybe now is a good time to clarify the assembly ...

Headlight Film - new supplier, new stock!
After years of not being able to get the good film from XPel, my former supplier, I have FINALLY MADE A DEAL with Lamin-x for headlight protection film to my specification (5 and 7 inch headlight diameters). Since XPel quit making the good stuff, lamin-x is now the best I can get at a reasonable pri...

You've told us just about everything we need to know but the price...... Hmmm, that was an omission on my part. This is the 'Hella model 38' (legacy part number 5238) CHMSL Center High Mount Stop Light or 'Cyclops' center brake light. Re: High Output Lights /Winter 2020 update
Yes, the stuff is widely available. My roll is 5 feet by 12 inches, I think it was $9. It has a much smoother surface than that pictured, much like a mirror when applied, and very minor to almost no 'orange peel' effect. I suspect each manufacturer's version has a slightly different surface characte...

Re: High Output Lights / Winter 2020 update
OK, it's been a hell of a year, hasn't it? I've been off the forum for quite a while, so it's time to fix THAT oversight. First thing is an update on rear light restoration improvements. I have been applying a 'chrome' silver paint, suited to outdoor use. It was NOT even close to chrome, and this wa...

Hey Bobbo- Nothing wrong up here, Tom is still the guy. I recall him standing on the seat of Paul's 2002 at an Ice-Khana at Georgetown Lake several decades ago. I think he was three. The car was parked. I did not win a prize, but I DID get to drive my car home... I did not sink into the lake (thanks...

Drive 4 Corners - non-sanctioned BMW meet
Does anyone here know about the D4C event in Colorado? Drive 4 Corners is put together by a friend of mine, he does a good job. He's been part of the local CCA Chapter (Rocky Mountain) since he had to stand on the seat to see out the window. I have wanted to go for years, but the motor wasn't feelin...

Re: Low Beam Hella BiFocal 5-3/4" lights!
I thought I was being clear... ROW means "Rest Of World" i.e. not a UK-influenced area where drivers keep to the left. This is directly related to the previous statement about 'handedness' or which side of the road you drive on, and where the lights may be used. This is of course only low ...
