Re: Need help with left tail light/front corner light and blinker electrical issues (fuse 22 blown)

Check your Emergency Flasher Switch. Almost all exterior lighting goes through that switch. Spray some contact cleaner inside if you can

Activate the switch but I do know that the early series 1 switches usually fail and get stuck in the activated position

Use an e30 foglight switch for basic On/Off function. I'm not aware of a 3 position switch as you describe to fit the hole

Re: fuel tank interchangable?

Slight difference in the sender/pump hole location between S1 and S2 fuel tanks. Nothing insurmountable at all. Later tanks are equipped with a screw in drain but they're usually frozen in place

Euro fuel tanks are completely different

FYI Tom. E12 and S1E24 front Struts are not the same. I know the spindle diameter for e24 is larger. The spring cup diameter may also be different

Great progress 👏

Re: B35 head on Euro B34

Just my opinion, but since you have the pieces to make an actual B34 euro 10:1 motor, I would lean towards that setup. The Hartge head can easily top off your B35 bottom end to make another worthy mill. Parts will interchange but you really gain little by mixing them up. The B35 achieves similar hp ...

Re: 1978 Euro 635CSi rev issues

CTS is located on the thermostat housing on top. Usually Blue, Brown, or Off-White. It provides a Resistamce reading to the ecu. Resistance drops as temperature goes up

Make sure you get the same resistance reading at the sensor and at the ecu connector

Hello: Are the late 1970's cars that are (possible) restoration projects doable or should they be avoided. I am looking at a couple on facebook marketplace in the Kansas City area. One is a 1978 635CSi (per seller) described as a Euro car with a 6 digit VIN. I don't know what that means, I have own...

Positive is the large Red wire, negative is the large Brown wire. You'll find them on opposite ends of the connector. Unfortunately you need the seat wire harness with the center console switches to make it work DC motors move one direction when power is applied. Movement in the opposite direction i...

Re: “Very Rare” Momo-BMW Steering Wheel

To assist in your sale, use the key words Coarse Spline. 85 and earlier e23, e24 and e28 have coarse spline application. Same for e3, e9, e12 so this will work on those as well. And to top it off, the adapter can be changed to allow for fine spline fitment. Price is great. Someone on mye28 is lookin...

You need to specify whether it has Memory function or not. Completely different and not interchangeable.

I do have a couple of the Memory seat modules but they are untested. Good luck

Re: Engine block numbering - what year is this?

The B35 has high compression pistons. It's the head that has a larger combustion chamber. Find other stampings on the side of the block to determine date of manufacture One way to mimick the B34 Euro 10:1 high compression motor is to start with a B35 bottom end and mate a B34 head to it. Seems that'...

There's a specific procedure for priming the timing chain tensioner. Make sure the tensioner is proper as it sounds like the chain whining at higher rpms

Seems it's running rough as well so make sure timing marks are in alignment

You should also check fuel volume. Pressure alone is not enough Test Volume by rerouting the output from the fuel pressure regulator to a suitable container. Collected Volume needs to be at least 750 ml in one minute of engine running time The failed In-Tank Pump could have a negative effect on your...

I don't have the experience but I've heard that Wideband O2 sensor can provide real-time AFR readings. I would start there as that can tell you when the factory parts have reached their limit

Re: 1988 635csi starts then won't restart after running a few minutes

Check relays. Mainly the Fuel Pump relay. You can sub-in the horn relay as a test as it is the same type 4 prong relay. Relay going out is an indication the pump is doomed to fail. Basically pulls higher amperage and causes heat related relay failure There is a relay for the OBC under the dash kick ...
