Re: 1988 M6 for sale

The show is "Chasing Classic Cars". Wayne Carini is the gentleman that owns F-40 Motorsports and does the "chasing". I was disappointed in that episode because unlike 90% of the cars he gets, he wasn't shown driving this one after his shop crew got it running. that was the one, ...

Re: 1988 M6 for sale

saw a show yesterday(can't recall source) on cable T.V where an older gentlemen goes around the country finding vehicles for his clients. He found a Red 1988 BMW M6(U.S Spec) with 6,500k original miles. M6 was in new mint condition and was taken to an auction which sold for $95k U.S dollars. Anythin...

Re: On the road again in a M6

Greetings~ that is one good looking M6! I'd keep the OZ wheels until you get bored. Gives your M6 a sporty and distinctive look...something different for sure.

Re: Evaluating the M635CSi for purchase

the thrill of finding one, is certainly exciting. As other board members have mentioned, restoring this M635 will require deep pockets. If you do decide on it, once it is running, should perform a cylinder compression test- the head gaskets on these engines tend to blow up quietly and discreetly. Go...

had a 95 Classic Beluga SWB and really loved it. It was fairly clean & did start with restoration process, but it was short lived. If ya end up test driving this one, check steering wheel does not have a lot of play; if it does it will require an adjustment to the steering linkage or replace wit...

some profits can be made from those cars with the correct advertising. At times, I board and travel AMTRAK from Martinez, Ca. down to the Valley in Fresno, Ca. and along the way in the distant countryside observe some of the most unique and rare cars...they all have a story of how they got there. fog lamp

Greetings,

you probably know by now where the right front fog lamp is located. Just in case- it is located above, directly inside the chrome euro front bumper with glass in perfect condition. The plastic mounts are broken as you've noticed.

M635 Update

Greetings All, wanted to update you on the apparent culprit causing the issues- it got to the point where the vehicle cranked but would not hold an idle and would be very erratic. Turns out the M had a BLOWN HEAD GASKET  :-? The M never, never overheated and just don't understand why. It was ...

what a great read! The new 6 Series does have very subtle hints and clues from our E24's and do look much better than their previous generation. On another note, wish new car companies would start making good looking wheels once again though!

look into inspecting your ECU for issues with the soldering joints-if this is the culprit, it will only get worse until one day your vehicle won't be able to hold an idle.

Thanks for sharing. There are a number of interesting things on this test. First, why did they call your can an "M5"? Somehow the database shows your VIN as being an M5, not an M635CSI. Additionally, the Cat has "N/A" on it, which, even in 2011, would have been incorrect. They s...

I requested my catalytic converter be removed soon after I acquired the M635(against California law btw) as it was starting to make some weird noises. I figured I would find a replacement in two years when it was time to go back in for a Smog Check. Unfortunately, it did not occur to me to ask the s...
