Check your throttle cable and the linkages. Mine was hanging up and doing the exact same thing you describe.

Fog Light Bucket
I am looking for a passenger side fog light bucket for an '85 M635. It has part # 491.01.107.61 ZKW stamped on the inside. Mine got trashed when a mounting pin broke. The whole unit came loose and everything was dragging, the lens was ripped out and the bucket was hanging on by the wires. It got dra...

Re: 87 M6 E24 correct oil for transmission and diff?
Check out Brad Penn's Classic Gear Oil. Its all I use in older Getrags. PennGrade Multi-Purpose 'Classic' GL-4 SAE 80W-90 Gear Oil The SAE 80W-90 is specially blended using high quality PennGrade mineral base stocks and select additive technologies. It is designed to be used with "yellow" ...

Moosehead!!!!
I just installed some spherical bearings from Moosehead and these things are great. I was using urethane UCABs and they were trashed (25k miles) so the immediate improvement was obvious. After putting a few miles on them, they have a firm feel without the metal on metal harshness I feared. They feel...

Re: My Custom Stainless Exhaust System.
I just redid the exhaust on my M635. I ran two inch pipes from the headers to a Billy Boat exhaust can. It sounded great except at idle where it was too loud. I tried an X pipe as close to the headers as I could get and now its perfect. At idle it is much quieter and the sound in the cabin while dri...

Re: Cleaned engine. No spark now!
Check around the spark plugs. Water always seems to get under those rubber boots and settles down by the spark plugs. I use a piece of tubing hooked up to my air compressor to blow the water out.

impedance
You are correct that your injectors are high impedance. I think the switch over happened some time in 1985. My car is a January 85 build and it uses low impedance. Good idea to rebuild the current set and keep as a backup.

ITB Sync
There is a really smart guy over on mye28.com named Dean who built a Manometer for synchronizing individual throttle bodies. I used it yesterday on my M635 and it works better than I could have imagined. Here is my engine before sync: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x91Dia4SblA&feature=em-upload...

Bulbs
HondaPartsNetwork.com had them for $4.01 apiece. They are very high quality, much heavier than 1157s from the auto parts store.

Honda bulbs
I just installed some of these Honda bulbs in my M635. I put them in the brake lights, rear fog lights, and blinkers. They are noticeably brighter than the 1157 bulbs they replaced. Also, I checked them after an hour and they do not get hot. This is a terrific upgrade, highly recommended!

Conversion
Mojocoggo is right. There is a lubricant I bought on eBay that is specifically made for this type of conversion. I used when I replaced my condenser years ago and have not had any problems with it. Fill it up with the oil and r134 and you will be fine.

ignition switch?
I recently developed a weird no start issue too. I thought it was a hot start problem. I could get it started with brake cleaner if I had to. I was sure it was a hot start problem until my hand slipped off the key as I was cussing and trying to get it started one time after getting gas. It fired up ...
