Re: Rough idle/ misfire on an 85

Hello,
reading thru your list,
You are well on your way,
Everything needs to be done anyway, soon or later!

I do not see a fuel filter replacement,

Clogged catalytic converter?

With a fresh/ fully charged battery (13.8V+) does it still crank a while before firing.

Replace the coolant sensor and check the wiring, special attention to where the wire meets the plugins!

Good luck!

Re: Rough Idle, dies on slight throttle - with video for diagnosis.

Hello, More diagnostic is needed. You can do a pressure check on fuel system. I have seen same symptoms with different reasons, like catalic converter failing, screen clogged on in-tank pump or one of the pump's broken, fuel filter clogged, coolant temperature sensor (CTS) failing. Also, ECU just we...

Hello

I haven't had a chance to get underneath the car to check on the connector (to eliminate it as a possibility) that plugs into the side of the transmission; weather & circumstances prohibit it for now.

do this soon!

Hello,
Auto tranny,
Not mentioned yet,
Neutral saftey switch inside shifter needs to know it is in park or neutral, or it will not crank, (might be kaputt)
If the later you can over ride it by jumping the two brown wires in the connector plug
