IIRC the color matched BBS RS 007 wheel centers were a factory option; very rare, very cool!

Re: 1985 M635CSi exhaust help please

Nice car. Which red is that? That is not a Catalytic converter, it's a resonator. And, that is the stock Euro exhaust set up. Leave it alone if you do not have to pass an emission inspection. However if you do, you'll need to have that resonator cut out and replaced with a Cat. Some guys have a trac...

DME Settings for Smog

I did a search and came upon this post. Does anyone have suggestions on the best DME setting to pass emissions test? Do you all concur with setting #5? Pics of the setting markers might help too. GWL Thanks again for your posting. If the 055 motronic does not have 02 sensor readings. I guess the fue...

Hi Bert,
Is this just for M30 or do you have M88/3 conversion too?

I just wish I liked the e34 more and at only 282 bhp, meh. If it were an Alpina B10 Bi-Turbo, you'd get my money. Great color though.

Anyone used the Baum tool version of this depressor? I'm having trouble getting it around the cam and I wish I had the factory version to compare.

Re: m88/3 valve clearance adjust

Really confused. BMW Mobile Trad. shows same shim/part # for S38 and M88 #11321308224

OK, just spoke to Mobile Trad. they confirmed M88 is 31 mm shim and that their web site incorrectly lists the same part.

Re: m88/3 valve clearance adjust

yup, M88 uses 30.5mm dia shims and S38 uses 36mm dia shims. with an M88 engine you have to be sure that the camchain and guides are in good shape. Most folk just replace the lot at regular intervals. cheers Is 30.5 mm diam. correct? I just put the Vernier on the shims from BMW and they're 32.97mm d...

Re: m88/3 valve clearance adjust

A search would have yielded many threads on this topic. Specs in manual say "Max coolant temp. 35deg C = .30mm/ Operating temp. = .35mm." Where did you buy the valve tappet depressor tool? Torque specs can be found in the same document - 00 Maintenance and General info >00 00 000 Specifica...

Et 20 RC090's are heavier, need hub rings and spacers to get looking similar. I think the subtle nature of the RS being period correct also makes it better.
