Re: Water in the spare wheel well.

If you take off the side trims in the boot and there's water in the rear quarter wells, then it'll be from the rear light assembly gasket(s). Otherwise it could be the boot seal is not glued in all the way around and some water is getting past it. The only other thing could be the mounting holes for...

I thought that this was the same car! Very similar mileage and only UK registered four days apart. Then I noticed that Jay Kay's is a shadow line with BMW wheels. What a coincidence :-) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-635-CSI-Highline/223594947512?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438....

Re: Any M62 gurus here?

I’m having a problem with one of the 11 bolts on the valve cover. Just spins. Anybody ever wrestled this beast? I had a similar problem recently ( though not on my E31). It was a stripped thread on the fastener, although in your case I think it’s more likely to be in the casting ☹️. I removed it by...

Re: UK M635CSi #410 FS on ebay.

The engine bay still looks very clean. Why on Earth would a vendor show a photo of a boot full of old bits and pieces plus rusty tools? The rear seats look just about as bad as any I have ever seen, so why picture them too. At the very least he could have cleaned the car up a little. £22k without an...

What famous rock star(s) have you bumped into?

I'll start the ball rolling. Yesterday I was walking along Notting Hill Gate and turned left (blind corner) into the alley next to Oxfam's. I very nearly crashed into David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), who adroitly swerved around me without breaking his step or interrupting his conversation with the attrac...

Honestly, I'm trying to figure out how to get my wife to agree to this. The fly in the ointment is that I'm buying another E30 today (Wednesday) and she wasn't to happy about that. [-X You have to buy it Ken. At $1300 its a no-brainer! You should see the wrecks that fetch more than that on this sid...

Anybody know what this tool does?

A good friend of mine, now sadly deceased, left his American car spares business (Marshall Dickson Performance in Kent, England) to his brother, another of my friends. Amongst the great quantity of spares, cars and tools, this has been found. It looks as if it is some sort of chuck with a hexagonal ...

Re: The Beast AGAIN!!

Back on again at a tad under £14k. Although the description hasn't changed very much since it was first listed more than seven years ago, the asking price certainly has and somewhere along the way, the current owner reckons it puts out 300bhp! I doubt it :-k https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-635csi-E24...

Re: Nine 9s?

I remember my first (99,999 clickover to 000000  ) and guess I always will. It was an old 1965 Triumph Vitesse 6 which I'd bought with many miles on it. It was in 1975 and the car was a survivor (at only ten years old), even then! The thing is, in those days, it was very rare for a British car...

Re: Swapping 86/86 sport seats into 88/89 car - anyone done it

I removed a set of electric Highline seats which had been fitted into a 1986 car, so they will definitely fit. You'll just need the wiring loom which runs under the carpet, alongside the transmission tunnel and plugs into the junction box fitted onto the firewall. An easy installation!

Maybe because in reverse you don't rev the engine, but let it go back either at tickover or low revs? Does it drive forward @ tickover without the same problems?

Bilstein B6 - but which part numbers?

Hi Guys,

Need a little help here. Looking to fit B6s front and back, but there appear to be several part numbers available for the same car - or am I going mad?

Has anybody recently fitted them to a S2 car and if so, do you have the numbers please?

TIA :-)
