Re: 1980 635CSi Euro

Took the car out to another track day. My turbo car was having issues again #-o Overall it did well .These tires were newer Riken Raptors-- and the wheels are the Rial mesh that I have mounted and will pretty much remain on the car. I had the timing adjust on me in the middle of the session as my nu...

Stock 32's are et20 17x8, so you have wider wheels that stick out 8mm more.

Cool car, although I already have one :)

Shame it doesn't have the dogleg or Recaro's but it would still be a nice car for somebody.

According to some research, this was the mileage 15 years ago. Hasn't traveled far lately (6000 miles in 15 years)...

Re: Temperature gauge indication - running too cool?

Generally it should sit at about 11:30 on the gauge and shouldn't go much past 12 unless it is 100F and you are having to sit in some traffic...

Check your fan clutch and thermostat first.

Turns out 008 Ecu is not compatible with '81 635's used to using the 002 ECU.

Working on converting my setup to 008 and US stuff, but am still working through it.

Re: 1980 635CSi Euro

Quite warm, but I have been driving my 535is turbo and took it to D4C 2018. In the mean time I drove out to an E30 meet and got lots of comments about the wheels and just having a euro E24 in general. Glad to get some attention  Didn't get as many second looks 8 years ago when I bought the ...

Re: Headlight sides

Early euro's used the screw in place trim rings.. I have a set with headlight wipers.

But Ralph is correct, the ones you pictured are visibly marked Hella which means aftermarket and not E Code lights from the 80's.

Re: 1982 CSi Resto

Great work!

Standard shift lever on the dogleg is a bit on the long side, but smooth and easy to shift. After not driving it a while, I considered a lever upgrade but decided not to as I like to keep the wood shift knob.

Re: 1985 635CSI - Euro Spec, Schwarz

No offense, but this seems like a very premium price for a euro car missing euro parts (rear headrests, m tech 1 wheel) and other noticeable cosmetic issues. It seems the premium prices go for clean unmolested cars, but the lack of records, blacked out trim, gauge cluster and speaker system with non...

It pretty easy once you try it... Great update and exellent job with the wiring and dashlayout.

I have a tunerstudio dash that I personally like for tuning.
This was last summer but I use one still very similar:

Re: Going staggered - opinions wanted

IMO, square setup is the way to go for performance and wear. Allows your to change side to side, get 4 of the same tires, and swap around if wear isn't quite even. Just select a better compound tire and keep things simple with a square wheel setup.

Re: 81 E12 Based 633Csi Exhaust

Hey Marco, the real answer would be euro spec M30 exhaust, but those aren't super easy to find 8-[ and you need the o2 provision.

Another vote for custom/local, just find a good shop.
