Turbos help reduce noise so I bet it isn't overly loud even if nor much of a muffler there!

Hello, Do not know if this helps. My very early Series I 633CSI (June 1977) utilizes part number 34311120832. Available at both Autohausaz and Pelicanoarts from OEM supplier ATE for US$ 242-256, respectively. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=5231-EUR-06-1977-E24-BMW-633CSi&diagId=3...

Rob,

I may have one if you really need. Though it is used and likely not worth it with shipping. But maybe if you really need one... I don't know the true mileage of it, just that it's been in an entine off the road for over 10 years.

Re: 1979 635CSi Euro - Henna Revival Project

I got the wheels on and they look better than expected which is great! The flat tire was replaced too. However, I am still trying to figure out why the car is misfiring, although seemingly randomly. I put the distributor at the stock position and know that ignition timing is about right. Sometimes t...

Re: Rod cap bearing orientation

Note that Mark is the tangs marking from the opposite end.

The tangs sit on opposite sides when installed together, leaving imprints on the opposite faces.

Each bearing should have the tangs sitting in the groove and they should each be opposite each other when installed.

Washed the car today for the first time in 2.5 years since it has been off the road. Worked on cleaning the bbs rs wheels a little bit which had lots of brake dust. The car was looking pretty good and then i took a short 7km test drive down the street. The car drives really well and I think I need t...

Thanks guys! Bobbo, I have a garage that is insulated, so it stays warm (though it isn't heated, per se). There has also been a lot of warm weather lately that has allowed me to work on some of these items. I was also really focused in the fall working on these projects late at night as I got on top...

Re: Dinan Turbo Joins The Family

Any tips on your restoration process of cleaning prepping priming and painting the wheel wells? Where do you get your paint? Are you using glausurit 1k paint for the henna color? How do you paint the nooks and crannies and not get overspray or runs? You make the restoration and refinishing look so e...

Re: Early Euro Rear Bumper - Questions about Mounting Hardware

The square hole is intended for a carriage bolt to prevent it from turning. The square locks in place so the nut can be tightened from underneath. This is the image from that realoem website https://www.realoem.com/bmw/photos/07119910437 Do you have the brackets? There is a little wiggle room on the...

So A few updates since a month ago. I ordered belts and hoses and the waterpump and fan clutch only to find out that I got the wrong width drive belt, rendering it too long. Then I was waiting for some white vacuum hose to find out that it was not in stock and I had to wait another week for it to ar...

Robb, If I had euro B34, I would go with B35 head and intake, maybe consider M1.3. Though I am not sure the specs on the other head you have, I have heard good things about Hartge engines. So I guess I would check to see if the hartge head has the same size valves or any different size. I would exam...

Re: Oil Pressure Warning Light

Cold oil will be a bit thicker and if parked nose up, it may take a bit more to build pressure. Nose down will really help it! Check the low hanging fruit first: your M30B35 oil filter housing may be draining empty and have to refill every start... If it is an m30b35 and easy way to check is let it ...

Re: 1980 635CSi Euro

Good news! I put the later oil cooler housing on the car and no more leaks! It is smaller diameter and has a small drain fitting from an 81 635 or 735 and uses the o41x filter. Though I do sort of miss the Red oil filter housing. https://drive4corners.com/wp-content/usergallery/hashtag/20240226_1858...

Re: Anti-roll (sway) bars

Larger swaybars such as e28 m5/m6 size of 25/18mm will tear mounts, speaking from experience using Ireland engineering sway bars on e28 chassis.
