Re: Storage Clean Out

Those 16x7 4x100 Oz wheels. I just acquired another E30 and would like them for that car.

I'm afraid I came across as angry. I'm not, just a bit concerned that Kurtamine seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. He had been responsive, but not lately.

It's difficult to do business with you if you don't even read PMs sent to you. My PM to you has been sitting in my outbox for several days. Maybe you're away from 'Net access? :-k

Re: My M635 is eating main relays

I'm not keen on letting a rabid baboon with a multimeter go nuts ripping apart my car's interior on a wild goose chase. Hey, I resemble that remark. [-X :D This won't find the problem, but I wonder if disconnecting the battery immediately after the run would save the relay? Or does it refuse to res...

Positive for 86_6Series (Bob V)

Great communication and fast shipping of the Vogtland springs. Bob kept me informed of everything concerning the sale and shipment, tracking number and all. The springs are like new, and the way he had them packed was ingenious, zip-tied with one narrower spring inside each large spring, well padded...

I highly recommend getting your hands on the OEM tool if possible.

Jose
Just ordered one. $59 shipped.

Don't be ashamed of what you charge, Bert. For years you and a very few others were the only source for those and other E24/E28-specific tools

Re: Combination Pliers

They're raping people on shipping, or trying to. First class postage to me is $9.95. I buy a lot of stuff from GB and Europe, and shipping is nowhere near that expensive, especially for a small pair of pliers that weighs maybe one pound.

This is the only place selling new ones that didn't say they are on back-order or NLA: https://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/detail/bmw/71111103092/b2619210 If you try to order they may then say they are out of stock/NLA, but it wouldn't hurt to try. I bought my two pair from eBay and paid a good bit...

Great! Glad it helps. Maybe you could scan your M88 specific info. and send it to me, or post it for download ? I could add it to my manual, and then the community will have the most comprehensive version possible. Jose I have neither engine, but I'd love to have the information just in case one co...

Re: Poor old '81 635... can we rebuild her???

It would be nice to have a 1.5 or 2 ton ("tonne") unit, but the 1 ton is adequate. The engine and transmission together weigh less than half a ton.

How many of you are hams?

No, not the entertainer kind, the amateur radio operator kind. I'm studying for my Ham "ticket" (license), something I should have done 50 years ago, but having to send and copy Morse code always got me. That requirement has been gone now for quite a while. 50 years ago I had the rules and electroni...

Woooohooo! Song is back! Looking good there, buddy! It's amazing how something so insignificant can make such a difference in the appearance of the interior. You'd notice a cracked surround right away, but a new intact one blends in. I guess that's part of pleasing the eye. Nothing stands out as les...

Re: Lowering or Sport springs edit for 635

I have a 2nd set of Vogtland springs I bought thinking that they needed to be replaced. I changed the fronts but still had a problem. Wound up being the bracket on the front sway bar. So I have a pair of fronts used 5 yrs old, 3100 miles. Rears are brand new. I'll load photos later when I get to ph...

Re: E24 World fog light pigtails.

If you order one or more new, be sure they come with the metal insides. I ordered some of what I though were complete assemblies, only to discover there were no contacts in them (and they were PRICY!). I had to cobble push-on connectors in them to make them work.

I asked a good friend of mine, do radar detectors actually work? Said the CHP calibrates their guns regularly and I have never seen any beat it in court.
That doesn't tell how many WITH a detector were warned and adjusted fast enough to beat getting a ticket.

Most likely it's on your wheel because someone bought the overlay and put it there. I don't think any of them (year/model "plain" 633/635) came with it except the M6/M635.

One other possible issue - idle control valve sticking.
This ^^^^^^
It's directly related to the period of inactivity. Sticks because it's dried out.

The ??? one is what goes to the interior temperature sensor. It connects to a semi-rigid nylon line that goes through the firewall and then to a short rubber tube that goes to the sensor under the dash, behind the lower dash panel.
