Re: Seat install question

Maybe none of these experts have tried swapping E36 seats into an E24. I'm not claiming to be an expert by any stretch if the imagination, but we as a group tend to not reply to questions we don't know the answer to. MOST E24 seat swaps involve seats from other BMWs of the same era (E21s, E30s, etc....

Re: shipping by Greyhound. I'm sorry you've had such poor experience with shipping by The Dog, but that hasn't been my experience at all. I've shipped and had shipped seats, tires, wheels, and large parts (head, oil pan, rocker/valve cover). The items have always arrived in a timely fashion. 4 days ...

Thank you for posting the solution. So many times on other forums the fix is never revealed. Bigcoupe members seem to be much better about closing out discussions with what cured the problem (s).

Re: Gonna be gone for a while

Had the follow-up with the doctor after a biopsy a week ago. The cancer is still there. I start another cycle of 6 chemo treatments, one a week for 6 weeks, next Monday, then another biopsy at 8 weeks. They didn't do more resections to remove the cancer, because it's in the lining. If the chemo does...

I emailed Rob, and sent him the link to your posting. He's not far from you, and is interested.

Rob is a Bimmerphile and writer for Roundel, the BMWCCA monthly magazine, and the weekly Bimmerlife, the on-line BMWCCA publication. He's a member here, but apparently hasn't been logged on in a while.

Re: E39 Aux Fan Upgrade How To

If you had the Photobucket work-around you could see them, but you may be on a smart phone (where the widget doesn't work).

For simplicity, I'm uploading them here, direct to the Bigcoupe website, so people don't have to struggle with seeing the pictures.

Re: Carbon Cleaning an e24

Safe? Yes. Needed? Not likely. Unless it's been running very rich for a long time, the carbon buildup won't justify the process. These aren't direct injection engines like the current BMW lineup, that require periodic aggressive cleaning.

Re: 1988 M6 Zinno natur

How about you post them directly here, or at least upload them to a non-kidnap site that tries to extort money for hosting photos? My phone doesn't support the Photobucket Chrome work-around. All I see is the Photobucket extortion note.

To complete the '80s look you need to lose the facial fur. That wasn't part of 'the look' back then.

Re: Buzzing Idle Regulator Valve

How much, if at all, did unplugging the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve affect the idle? And, yes, they sometime hum (don't know the words? ). Some more than others. If it's really loud it's probably on it's last legs.

+1 for Blue Coral. With ANY product you have to be careful, but this stuff seems to clean better than anything else I've tried.
