He may not have one. That was his first posting here.

Re: Gonna be gone for a while

Lots happening here. We are moving to my parents house before my surgery in two days (Monday, 22 Oct.). I inherited the house when my mom passed in 2012. It is bigger and in MUCH better condition than our house. I'll need the extra room around the bed for home health access and rehab. I didn't want ...

Re: issue on roadtrip, no instrument lighting

The brightness control? The lights wouldn't suddenly go out if it were barely moved, but could you have accidentally turned it all the way down? :-k It wouldn't affect the reverse lights, though.

If it won't fire on starter fluid you have no spark. Check the distributor innards. I'm thinking the rotor failed.

Re: Anyone having trouble staying logged in?

It just logged me out while trying to reply to the shark tee shirt thread. I refreshed the page, logged back in and my posting wasn't there, so posted it again, and then BOTH postings showed up, and it logged me out again. It appears it's not completely fixed.

Good luck with that, Rainer. He apparently hasn't been back here in a month and a half.

It's only logged me out once today, and that was on my janky phone, so I think whatever you did, it worked. THANK YOU! (it was really annoying, but we all survived =D> )

PM him, Luc. I don't think he checks the forum regularly, but should get an email alerting him to a PM.

If I'd seen this listing a few weeks ago I'd have bought it myself. Good luck.

That's not abuse. That's what the E24 was made for, to be driven. Nothing sadder than a garage queen that is beautiful but unused.

Anyone having trouble staying logged in?

I've been logged out several times without me having done so. I always click the "remember me" box when logging in. Several times in the last hour I've been logged out while changing forums within the Bigcoupe.com site. I went from The Saloon to the Interior forum and I was logged out. I logged in, ...

Re: Gimmick? Or worth while...

Don't feel like that. I've been washing my cars for 50+ years and never even heard of the two-bucket method until recently. Considering I plan on having at least two of the BMWs painted next year, that process will change. Professional paint is too expensive to ruin with sloppy washing practices.

Re: Hmm, what to drive, decisions, decisions...

The "faces" of those two cars are so alike, yet different. The cabrio (which I would happily drive any day, all day. I am very partial to red cars) looks aggressive and eager. The 5er looks smug and sinister.

One of the detailing videos I watched on YouTube had one in use. The detailer seemed to like it. Anything to get the dirt off the cleaning sponge/mop and have the residue drop to the bottom of the bucket.

Yikes. I hate to tell you, but copper is a no-no when it comes in contact with aluminum. [-X You should use a zinc-based antiseize.

Re: " Auric " the odyssey ........

Excellent project. I hope you used some appropriate anti-seize on the new stainless hardware. The chance for serious galvanic corrosion between aluminum and stainless is even worse than regular steel. I've seen way too much of that in aluminum locomotive horns, where the stainless fasteners just a f...

Re: Fuel surging/poor pick-up in tank pre-pump

Putting an un-gutted actual working pre-pump back in the tank will very likely solve that problem. The purpose of the pre-pump was to prevent just what you're experiencing. I'm really curious why you gutted the pump. :-k

Tommy, that's awfully light viscosity for our old, large clearance engines. Just saying.

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

I have had those same Kumho tires (same size, even) on two of my BMWs. My daughter wore out a set on her 95 318is (60k+ miles) and I have about 10k on those on my 633. Two things: they seem to change little in grip throughout their life, but they do get noisy at 15-20k miles. For the price they are ...

When they came out with that color a few years ago on the M3/M4, I called it "Bile Duct Yellow". It is hideous. They even use it in one of their national commercials. My wife said "that's not really a color option, is it? Are they blind?" All I can say is that color-blindness must be more rampant th...
