Re: F/S 1985 635CSi

Thanks once agin for the advice and positive comments. This is indeed a truly rust free car. I doubt it was ever driven in winter and even then I have had it oil sprayed to ensure it stays that way. The paint is almost flawless as well. BaT seems the way to hold. I have a nephew who is a professiona...

Re: F/S 1985 635CSi

Thanks guys, I might try BaT since that's where I got the impression my car was worth what I am asking at least. I really need to do a good photo shoot and possibly videos to show what a beautiful car this is so I might have to enlist someone with a good camera and skill in photographing cars. I thi...

F/S 1985 635CSi

Attached is a link to the kijiji site where I have an ad posted to sell my 1985 635CSi. I really hate to let it go but during the past two years my health has prevented me from using it more than a few hundred kilometres a year. I have had almost 900 viewers and almost no interest in the car from bu...

Re: Paintless Dent Removal - Taking the plunge

I had a professional dent remover try to take a small dent from the top of drivers side fender of my 1985 635CSi. He removed some of it but stopped saying the metal was too thick for him to finish the job and if he forced the metal it would crack the paint.

I can get gas here in northwestern Ontario, Canada for as low as $0.95 a litre. That's about $2.70 US for 1 US gallon.

Re: OBC Remote Not Working...?

Yes the switch moves in and out and is marked "BC" also so I presume it is corrrect switch. Maybe just a bad contact so when I have an opportunity or really bored I might remove the switch and clean it. The OBC otherwise works as it should.

OK although getting to that wire will be a challenge. Isn't the OBC a PITA to remove? . Thanks for the advice.

OBC Remote Not Working...?

Very minor item to be sure but the remote feature in the turn signal stalk does not change the OBC features as it was intended. I actually didn't even know the car (1985 635CSi) had the feature until I ran the V.I.N. I have never used it in the 8 years I have owned the car so it is not a big deal bu...

Re: Greetings - Newbie Here

Welcome to this great forum. You will find very knowledgeable and helpful members here. I store my 635CSi for about 5-6 months every year and do not put the car on jack stands but instead pump the tires up to about 50 p.s.i. to avoid flat spotting. Leaving the car on jack stands is not good for the ...

I would have thought that the highest airflow restriction would be at the Air Flow Meter not at the Throttle Body.

Re: which computer drives the Check Engine light

The light and a chime comes on whenever the ignition is on. The brake light out warning light on the left side light out panel should also come on until you press the brake. Possibly the brake light switch under the brake pedal is defective or not adjusted if it still doesn't go out when you push th...

Re: M30B34 Exhaust Valve Rocker Arm to Cam Clearance

OK! In case anyone is interested I adjusted the exhaust valves to 0.010" and the intakes at .009" and the engine purrs and idles smoothly. Two or three valves were a bit loose and ticking a bit so this fixed that minor issue.

M30B34 Exhaust Valve Rocker Arm to Cam Clearance

I have a great admiration for Brucey's unparalleled knowledge of the E24. I will be adjusting the valves on my 1985 635CSI soon and note that Brucey recommends adjusting the exhaust valve rocker to cam at .010" rather than the generally accepted .009". I am curious to know if others are following hi...

Re: Does this seem like a bad ABS Relay?

Update on my ABS intermittent light issue. Thanks for all your good advice. I removed and cleaned the rear sensors and toothed rings and cleaned the front ones also although they were quite new. I think one of the rear sensors had collected a bit of iron dust. I blew out all the crud with an air gun...

Re: Does this look like a 33k mile 635CSI?

In Canadian $'s (and to us in Canada a $ is still a $) the car did sell for just shy of $20000 ! Recall that the car was listed on kijiji for $30000 or more this past summer. I think a little time spent on cleaning the undersides, better photos and a couple of videos showing that everything was work...

Does this look like a 33k mile 635CSI?

I have been watching this auction on BaT website. The owner claims it has only 33k miles on the odometer, was never winter driven on salted roads and was always stored winters and kept in dry storage. To me the car appears to have been undercoated with oily rustproofing several times and has more ru...

Re: Does this seem like a bad ABS Relay?

If a wheel sensor is faulty why would the light remain off for many miles and then shut off and not come on again when the ignition switch is cycled?
