Re: Quick Question on Drive Shaft U-Joints

SLOWNRUSTY; I've had a hard time getting here at times so, here goes I hope; I trust Ralph and I'll add this: if you remove the whole driveshaft, meaning the front too, you might want to replace the Guibo/rubber donut at the front? I asked here quite a while ago & was told if I remember to point...

RHanley
Thanx for the quick response! And, I don't have one on Buster so, I'll start there. I'm guessing that when someone installs the tin plate it's bottom side up?

Anyone here know about the heater valve for the E12? I hear it resembles a hockey puck? Any pictures? Please?! :roll:

Part # to stop leakage under driver's carpet?

I don't know where it comes from but, rain water ends up under the driver's carpet. It seems to be a slow leak? Would it be the door rubber or from the windsheild grille? I know I need the heater valve. It's better to email me at GripGreg@yahoo.com because I find it hard to come here for some reason...

Very Sweet Euro 6!! With 53K on the odometer, not much needs to said, except, does the odometer still work? And that can't be judged till you drive it this summer. Oh,, yeah; a car is only worth what it sells for!? Please stay in touch with any updates. 8) Oh,,yeah part 2; What is the general story ...

Dudes;
Before I remove the squirrel cages, should I be concerned with finding a balance marker so the new one won't be outta balance as it rotates? Or just mark the left & right on the spindle? :-k

I'm interested in the rear bumper with the rubber end caps. How much? Are the bumper to body brackets available?

I'm interested in your rear bumper parts and left front euro turn signal lens. Also you rear bumper end caps? I couldn't use your email address.

Re: E12 based car

As an E12 E24 car owner, I know that parts are not readily available for the E12!!
You/we have to search & at the same time get lucky to find parts! :-({|=
BMW sadly feels our E12 E24's are too old to deal with!
The change-over year to the E28 E24 is '82.

Re: Need quick response guys

Ronnie; the main reason it can't be done is because the '82 is probably an E12 suspension but, your '86 is definitely an E28 in the chassis department! You can of course, double check to see if your '82 is an E12, that's what I did to confirm stuff years ago. I say that because my Buster is an '82 w...

WOW!! I just read about Dean. As was mentioned, he was very free with his extensive knowledge. I learned how to wash the newer style headlights for Buster from him. I have a copy in my folder. I see he will be missed by all here, including me! God Bless & God Speed.
