I think that's a really nice E24, and I always did
The video had some nice driving footage of the car.

I have seen it my self, if I park the E24 next to the E23, the E23 looks massive compared to the 6'er

+1 on the SI board batteries, if they go bad you won't be able to reset the service interval lights, it won't store the data. I had the same problem on my bmw's and after replacing the SI board batteries (they are solderet to the SI board inside the gauge cluster) they have been working as normal fo...

Never seen anyone do that to these centers before.
I'm interested to see the result.
I think you should mirror polish the lips and paint the centers.

4hp22-EH wiring harness / cannon plug
Does anyone know where to source the internal wiring harness or electrical connector/cannon plug for the 4HP22-EH automatic? From what I can see it's no longer available from the factory and it seems difficult to source. I have a 1985 model. I'm having trouble with bad connection in the electrical c...

That sure doesn't look right, the fitment is a lot better on mine..
I think the upper doorcard came with different shapes on the early VS the later models, maybe that's what's wrong with the one in the picture?

Re: Proper cold storage tips for the Shark needed.
If the tyre doesn't "go back to normal" within a week or so, I'd say the tyre is bad. But I don't have the exact answer to this, I just wanted to shared my own experience. Different tyre brands may react differently to this. How old the tyre is should be considered as well. A new and fresh...

Re: Proper cold storage tips for the Shark needed.
1: Changing the oil is a good idea before storage. The reason car manufacturers often recommend changing the oil once a year although the car haven't been driven all that much (still got lots of km/miles left according to the service interval) is because the engine is getting hot and cold all the ti...

Re: People that lean against your car......
If everyone was to get in and out of a car or tampering with it in any way, it easily would have gotten some scratches and marks here and there. Doing it once or twice with an older car that have been daily driven and carfully taken care of since new, with the patina that it got wouldn't have done a...

Re: How long is a piece of string? (well, actually a propshaft.....)
I think 50% should be no problem. Which car and how big of an engine are you going to use it with? I think I had as little as 30mm contact area on a stock E23 745i propshaft once. I swapped the stock 3-speed auto with a 5-speed getrag 265 and it was a few cm shorter than the auto so naturally I had ...

Looks like stock seats!
I usually don't like reupholstered seats because they are rarely able to replicate the original look, and that destroys it for me. But this look fabulous, thumbs up!

Here's a video of my turbo Mazda MX5 / Miata as well: https://youtu.be/0Jb7Zt1yekY Video shows the first track weekend I attended with the new turbo setup and gear ratio. Usually it's my daily driver, for whenever I don't want to use the BMW's. :-) It also functions as my winter beater, so It's kind...

Re: Video of my 635CSi at the Nürburgring this summer.
Yes, the auto made it a bit sluggish out there. :-# It does about 150km/h in second gear and 230-240km/h in third, so there's not much happening when you floor it in third from about 130-140km/h. I think the piston rings are a bit worn aswell, because it smokes if I use the gears for braking from ab...

Video of my 635CSi at the Nürburgring this summer.
