I loved driving with the dogleg box through winding roads, you can find the right gear. It does have a drawback though without an overdrive, revving to 3000 rpm at 110 kmh.
I also like that it is a little special/rare.

Depending on your state laws Hydrocarbon refrigerant, ie HR12 can be used as a direct replacement for R12. Just a recharge service required.
It is legal in Australia and we have lawmakers that are anal.

Keep taking those pics, that is nice looking example you have.
You are a very lucky man to have 6er at 17. My first car was a Ford Escort 1979 2ltr 4 speed, lots of fun in that car.

Swap the manual and all other upgrades into the 88 and enjoy..Keep the auto and whatever else you remove so you can put it back to original if you are concerned about resale at a later date.
BUT why would you sell, EVER! 8)

If u go with lowered springs u need to ideally use short travel shocks otherwise short sharp bumps can be nasty. Bilstien sport have rear adjustable height ribs so u can lower the rear. For the front u can possibly use an e90 spring perch which will lower it 10mm more or the other thing is to use s...

Intake gaskets

Do I need to use gasket sealant on the intake gaskets? I suspect not, just thought I would ask for opinions. Found sealant when I removed the old ones and thought this was overkill.
I will be using sealant on the wet gaskets ie, sump, water pump.
