1. Passenger side and one of the rear windows not working - going to follow some instructions from here and see if I can manually wind before looking for motors
Try swapping the good switches over first.

2. Need to find a centre vanity light as mine is missing
There is NO centre vanity light. You have one either side in the roof and one in the L/H/S sun visor.

The hole in the roof you are probably looking at, is for the sunroof manual operation.

Just cut the metal back to clear the light. Treat the cut edge. There is plenty of metal left.

I seem to remember that the "stepped floor" seat frames use 6 bolts to hold them to the floor.

Thanks - I'm getting similar info on an E24 FB group. I don't think they'd go on my '79. Was asking because there's a beautiful pair of manual sports from an M6 for sale. Oh well . . . :(
Check your floor before you give up on the seats!

Pre 82 has a different floor pan and adapter plates will have to be used to mount the rails
Don’s car is ‘81 and that has a “flat floor”

Re: S2 seats compatibility in S1?

Will Series 2 manual sport seats fit in an S1 car? Depends on how old the car is. The seats will fit but you may need to change the mounting frames. My '79 633 had a "stepped floor" and needed totally different seat mounting frames to fit. Not sure when they changed the floor structure to a "flat f...

The R3vlimited boys have a huge rare parts thread, figured we needed one too.

I will start with the classic mystery part. The firewall harness water shield.

Re: Front wheel Bearings on 86 e24

Hi Ronnie,

You will destroy the bearing when you remove it so the new one comes complete with hub and bearing.

Do you have a Haynes for the E28? Excellent write-up in there on the bearing replacement.

All the best.

I didn't realize there was a difference. What didn't fit for you? the sensor itself? or length? The post '86 items are handed L & R. with fancy grommets. The ones I got from Ivo had no grommet or plug on the end. I think that the difference is because the trailing arms are different between early a...

Re: Removal of auto transmission cooler pipes from the gearbox end.

Bought like it. I have a few in the set from 19-36 mm. They are extreme HD as you can see by the thickness. German stamped "Belzer 1949". You can buy sets of cheap split ring spanners but they will break as soon as you put a load on. The other thick split rings I have are brake pipe sizes, which are...
