AS I said in previous post, it is worth injecting it between the seal and the body as well.

I have probably replaced around 10 screens using cleaned-up old seals without any problems.

Alternatively, I have the original screen rubber which I think will clean up alright, would this be okay to re-use or is that ill-advised] I've always re-used the original rubber. Try running it with the fuel tank cap off. It may be a vent problem.
