Re: Series 1 central vs left side exhaust exit
I don't have an original exhaust system but that is neither here nor there. The valance is very clearly made( stamped) for left exhaust not center and it looks great that way. I am running a Billy Boat system. Two separate resonators into one muffler and 2 pipes out 2" from manifold through re...

Re: Series 1 central vs left side exhaust exit
On my 81 Euro left side What, I just thought I found it on realoem that there was a change 09/79. Are you sure you have the original rear bumper? Do you have 2 or three silencer? Do you have a mid part support for the exhaust system. Left side exhaust exit as far as I have learnt has two silencer a...

Re: All chrome side mirrors
I believe that transition occurred sometime between 1979 and 1980. Most of our series one cars have mirrors with black bases. This is a 12/1981 build date parked next to a sister series one. D7093FC5-066D-4A60-8C7A-81A175BEA6F5.jpeg Ok, I have a 1980 with black base which seems to be correct then. ...

All chrome side mirrors
Hi,
I wonder if the all chrome version side mirror, i.e., cromed base/support as well as crome mirror housing is present on all series 1 E24 1976-1982 or are the newer version with a black support/base introduced during series 1 or when series II arrived?

Re: Harness 635csi L-jet ECU question
You probably need the matching afm (280 203 002) and injectors (probably not critical to run but M90 injectors are rated much higher volume). Usually a matched set is necessary. Some ECUs are interchangeable within a system (ie. 011 and 008 ecu run 016 afm; 059 and 061 ecu both run 027 afm) Ralph S...

Re: Harness 635csi L-jet ECU question
Seems you are trying to accomplish my future plans. I have an 81 528i. E12 car That I placed a euro 10:1 motor in. Plan is to use M90 controls with the existing OEM harness as the M90 setup is similar to the euro 10:1. Good luck and please provide updates on your progress Ralph Correct, problem is ...

Harness 635csi L-jet ECU question
Is it the same pinout (harness) for ECU 0 280 001 114 ( Euro 635 CSI L-jet) and 0 280 001 008 (633CSI), i.e., is it possible to run M90 with 0 280 001 114 using the 633 csi harness?

Re: E12 m535 exhaust system same as 635csi 1980
OK so after taking another look at realoem, it looks to me that there are two different systems that could have come on both the e12 M535i and the euro 635csi First I looked up M535i, this is the page on realoem: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partgrp?id=4701-EUR-10-1980-E12-BMW-535i&mg=18 It...

I wonder if there is any difference between E12 M535i exhaust system and series one 635 CSI (78-81)?

Ok, thanks alot for your answers. Then I have another question. Does anybody know if the ECU:s on motronic 1.0 are interchangable? I mean if you have a 002 ECU and 013 AFM can that be exchanged with a 011 ECU and its corresponding AFM or 043 ECU with corresponding AFM? All Motronic 1.0 do have the l...

M90 Motronic 1.0 wiring diagram
Hi, This is unfortunately for the 633CSI with L-jetronic so it is not the same as M90 with Motronic 1.0. Euro 635 csi with M90 Engine and motronic was made for just one year late 80-early 82. and has a special wiring diagram. If anyone has the instruction manual for a Euro 635 csi from 1981 the wiri...

M90 Motronic 1.0 wiring diagram
Hi,
I wonder if anyone has the wiring diagram for the Motronic based M90? The engine is from a 1981 635CSI with ECU 0 261 200 002 and AFM that ends with 013.

I have three M88/3 engines in various conditions (besides the two in my two M635CSI). One with only 55000km, one completely restored, and one dismantled waiting to be restored. Not very often M88/3 engines show up for sale these days. Some M88/3 parts are horribly expensive. A serious restoration co...

Glass sunroof
The only one I have heared of is volvo 780, produced between 87-91. It could be that a new such glass was fitted to my car, since it came to Sweden in 87 with the glass sunroof, likely or not I cannot say.
I do not know the measures of the 780 sunroof nor its brand, anyone here who knows?

At a BMW meeting a feew days ago I saw a E28 M535i with glass sunroof. Manufacturer was Delochrom... It was visually an exakt copy of my E24 glass sunroof besides that it was bigger and for E28. It has to be a non-catalyst Highline since it has a M88/3 instead of the S38 B35, if the engine is oroginal? Very few non catalyst M6 made 1989!

Here is a picture of the glass sunroof. It looks truly original. It is electrical. It slides back and pops up exactly as the ordinary sunroof. It has also a manual sliding back cover inside. Manufacturer is Delochrom.
