Re: January 2018 Catch up?

Hi - a drive early in 2018 would be great. Haven't been on a decent drive in ages.

It was great to meet everyone on Saturday - Ben and Stu for the first time and Josh & Paul for the 2nd/3rd time. Enjoyed the drive back on the windy road back from Church Point (minus the thousand cyclists!), giving the 6er some serious 'stick' and - with windows down - listening to the cacophon...

I'm glad to report closure on this annoying issue. After taking out all indicator bulbs, cleaning the bulb & socket contacts, swapping out the flasher relay (with the $5 non-OEM ones Bob recommended...which work by the way :D ) I ended up getting a replacement loom and stalk assembly from a 1986...

Thanks Jaws I think I'll try changing the sockets. Took the steering column apart today, replaced the relay, took the stalk off, all connections are good and tight. I also replaced the older bulbs on the left hand side and cleaned all sockets but to no avail. Grrrr. The bit that gets me is when I pu...

Left indicator not working

I have a late '86 CSi and my left turn indicator has gradually stopped working. It used to intermittently flash normally (when the car was cold) then start rapid ticking from the relay with no left arrow illuminated on the dash or the turn indicators themselves. Now the left signal just ticks rapidl...

Hey Josh I'm free on 21/22 Feb and then from Sunday March 8th. In between those weekends, my old dear's out from the UK late Feb/early March and I've organised the entertainment. I might get special dispensation for a drive on 28th Feb/1 Mar. Snowy Mountains?? Decent run with good / windy roads...se...

Hey Josh - thanks for the advice. Will get hold of Mick next week when I get back from Orange. Is that your silver E3 on Micks FB page?

Hope all is well.

Camshaft Replacement/Overhaul

Hi Guys Can anyone in/around Sydney recommend where I can have my stock camshaft examined (and possibly re-ground or even replaced) on my 86 635CSi M30 (manual box). I'm contemplating an engine head overhaul too so I need someone who knows what they're doing and I can trust to give me the right advi...

Rice burners, fuel pumps, footy carnivals, Josh's outstanding driving skills....oh and the drive at the weekend. Are we still meeting at 10am just off Peats Ridge Road as per Paul's original post? Unless the meeting point/time has changed, Lydia and I will be setting off from Western Sydney around 8...

Bermuda Triangle indeed. I'm really sorry I couldn't make the last run as a dear friend of ours passed away on the Sunday before and we had his funeral on the Friday before. I'm now planning to be at the run on the 28th - we were due to go to see a band that afternoon/evening but that was cancelled ...

Would be good to see you again Orlando. I saw your beautiful M6 at the last Show N Shine at Silverwater but couldn't find you. I've actually seen your M6 a few times in the city (on Kent St.) around 4pm-5pm in the last year or so. Need to chat to you about where you got your wheels done (Artarmon??)...

Nice legs indeed Paul, however, I'm more of a wheels man....besides I don't really want to be known for looking at men's pins. Anyway, I've just found out that we're playing bowls at home on May 10th which means I will meet you all at Clovelly and do the first hour of the trip. After that I'll peel ...

G'day Paul - thanks for responding. I will be on the drive on saturday so I'd like to see your wheels and chat to you. The only reason Im thinking about reconditioning my wheels is that I've had a slowly deflating front tyre - problem is a split rim which Jax in Merrylands diagnosed last week. Got t...

BBS Wheel Reconditioning

Hi guys - does anyone have any knowledge of alloy/mag wheel reconditioning - either paying to get it done or DIY? I have 225 section BBS split rims on my 86 635. The rims are getting pitted and definitely not as shiny & new as they should be. The rim bolts are getting discoloured (not sure if th...

A Bathurst run in April would be great - count me in! It was great to meet Sanna, Gary, Trevor & Josh on Saturday and I totally enjoyed the drive. I seemed to have developed a slow puncture in the front OS tyre which is a bit of a bugger. Thanks for organizing the drive Paul and I look forward t...
