Re: Brake fluid light flashing when braking?

there are many brake warning lights; are you absolutely sure it is the fluid level one? To check, lift the sensor from the reservoir; the same light should come on. BTW it is possible that you have a dodgy ground connection somewhere and that is why the light is coming on. cheers Absolutely positiv...

If it was stuck would it not stay on all the time, not flash in time when touching the brakes?

Brake fluid light flashing when braking?

'84 633csi USA. Just replaced my brakes with all new calipers, pads, and pad sensors. Bled the system, and the master reservoir is full. Now every time I apply the brakes the brake fluid level sensor light flashes in the gauge cluster for a half second and immediately turns off. If I pump the brake ...

Re: Does the OBC affect the operation of the Odometer?

Just a follow-up, I had a few teeth missing on my speedometer gears, replaced them and it's working again. So, in this case, the OBC wasn't the issue.

Re: Does the OBC affect the operation of the Odometer?

I don't think so; the one signal goes into a single board and thence is used to drive the speedo and the odo. The #1 thing that stops the odometer from working is that the gears fail. cheers Seems my gears have failed, so good call. I've found two vendors selling reproduction gears. Who does the e2...

Hello Jose, so when you said checked all connections did you find something that wasn't connected properly?

Does the OBC affect the operation of the Odometer?

Doing some repairs on my '84 633csi and I temporarily unplugged my OBC, would this cause the Odometer to stop working in my gauge cluster? Speedometer works as normal too.

I concur the oil can from the local hardware store, and bleed from the bottom up works perfectly.

Re: o2 sensor warning light reset?

So it just goes off automatically, there's no reset? The former owner pulled the bulb before I bought the car, probably since they couldn't figure it out either. What other issue could cause it to stay on if the o2 sensor is new, and the car passed smog?

WTB: Speedometer for 1984 633csi, USA, 5-speed.

My speedometer seems to have a burnt resistor, maybe more damage. I'm looking for another one that's in operational condition, face numbers are K=7313 EG. Also interested in a really nice condition cluster surround that has minimal wear on the plastic finish, but that seems to be unobtainium. ](*,) ...

o2 sensor warning light reset?

I replaced the o2 sensor but the warning light remains on in the check panel. Is there a way to reset this in a 1984 633csi?

Re: Programa SI board install, and new electrical gremlins.

Just a follow up so others know the solution. I installed another good used main circuit board with the Programa SI board and pretty much everything works normally now. Still not getting a speedometer reading though but that could be the sensor in the differential.

Re: Programa SI board install, and new electrical gremlins.

Found this on another forum that had someone with the same issue: "When the car does not turn off, unplug the instument cluster and the car should shut off. If so there is a bridge in the cluster. Open it up and see if you find and burnt spots. If not needs new cluster!"

Re: Programa SI board install, and new electrical gremlins.

Next, I disconnected both battery cables and the engine just kept on running like normal. So the key and battery are both shut off and the engine is still running as if nothing is wrong! Never a good idea to run an engine with the battery disconnected................ Agreed, it was only disconnecte...

Re: Programa SI board install, and new electrical gremlins.

Yes, I talked to Programa, and they said there's no way either board could keep the car running and defeat the ignition key in that scenario. One thing I noticed though is that if I disconnect only the large blue multipin plug from the back of the gauge cluster the car shuts off as normal and restar...

Re: Programa SI board install, and new electrical gremlins.

Happy holidays. Unfortunately it's almost impossible to hook up any wires incorrectly since each is a specific type plug with color codes and different types of connectors that aren't interchangeable. I've triple checked all connections and they are installed as they were intended from the factory. ...

Programa SI board install, and new electrical gremlins.

Tech help, please. 1984 633csi, manual transmission. I replaced the SI board with a new Programa unit today, and after careful reassembly and installation of the gauge cluster, I started the car and lot's of weirdness ensued. No dash or center console lights would come one, and even worse the engine...

Pulled out thermostat, and boiled it in a pot, it opens less than a millimeter even under a hard boil. So I am assuming this is the culprit?

Surprisingly it does not look corroded or damaged. What causes them to just stop opening?
