We've been blessed with daily melt/freeze cycles that make the elevated overpasses miserable....... cobblestone ice, bare roads and then black ice.

For some reason this phone didn't want to..... thanks for the file. I wondered where you sourced the batteries. I'll price a new light at my local dealer if I can't find just the batteries.

Thanks again.

glovebox flightlight (torch)

Has anybody been sucessful in replacing the batteries in these? I got mine apart and it isn't pretty. ( OK, I'm a bit anal about things working ) If all else fails, I guess I'll replace the connector with a lighter socket for powering GPS/Radar detector/phone.

It's not usually too bad starting from scratch.... but when someone has already been in there being "creative"....... When you have "non-factory" wires hanging out and you can't trace them back.

Rats

Well, finished installing the new connector and tidied up the remaining wiring behind the radio. Lots of strange non-factory wiring. Well, not only does the radio not work, but the car will not crank!

Brucey, you can find circuit designs to dim LEDs but getting the dash dimmer to control both that and the dash lights might be a bit tough.

Junkyard....or some folks remove them with the radio. Using an aftermarket head is easier...they come with new ones.

Chances are that all the factory harness is still there. You can probably just splice the factory connectors back to it..... I bought a pretty basic looking Alpine media player for $89. No CD, AM FM Bluetooth.
