Will Series 2 manual sport seats fit in an S1 car?

Two manuals I referenced for this said to use a jack to compress the suspension.

On my '79 I bugrd the threads on both ends and the boot on one. Ordered new from the dealer. They still come with the castellated nuts. Can you actually replace the boot alone?

We put them as tight as we could with a 150 lb manual torque wrench. It's still on the lift. I'm gonna dig deeper into the online manual to try and get it.

The malloc.nl server that carried the online version of the DVD version of the BMW shop manuals seems to be dead. 1000 is for parts. It isn't miles that kill the plastic guide as much as time.
