Seat install question
I'm trying to swap a set of manual buckets from an e36 m3 into my '79 633, naturally the bolt pattern is different....anyone know of an adapter available to make this more of a "bolt right up deal"? I don't want to start trying to jerry-rig the seats to make them fit....I don't think that'...

Re: what paint to use??
I'm a big fan of por-15 too, I've used it in the past, I just thought this might be a little quicker....I used Rust-oleum Rust Dissolver and it did take care of the rust on the frame rail, but I think I've used the wrong paint....I sprayed the rail with rust-oleum undercoating and then went back wit...

what paint to use??
Hey guys, I'm refinishing a set of rusty M3 manual frame rails to go into a '79 633 (as soon as I can find the right adapters) and I started painting with rustoleum,,,,well this crap wants to stay tacky even after a week so I've decided to go back to square one and ask someone who's done this....wha...

Re: Anyone know what happened to Ron Carter?
Dean....I've been to mye28 and logged onto that thread several times, but could not get a reply....apparently the guy who originally started that thread is on vacation for most of June. I may wind up jerry-riggin something just so I can start using these seats.

Anyone know what happened to Ron Carter?
Does anyone know how to contact Ron Carter? I stumbled across his info from several years ago and it's like he's vanished. He had made an adapter to convert e30 sport seats so we could use them in our e24's....I'm trying to make a set of e30 M3 sport seats work in my '79 6er....any ideas??

Re: Drivers door seal
Jamesmc....why don't you try and seal the cut that's in your current door seal with a waterproof silicone sealant....that might solve your problem without the expense and headaches of replacing your current door seal....just a thought.

Re: Interior rebuild
Hey Panson....I'm makin changes to my '79 6er interior and I'm lookin hard at Corbeau sport seats, if you're ok with vinyl, they have the front pair for $598 plus frames and shpg....not a bad price for a pretty good lookin seat and they're manual which I think is a good thing.

Re: Drivers door seal
Fellows, my drivers door seal is coming apart and I'm trying to find a decent used one so I don't have to deal with breaking in a new one....I've done that before and it's a pain in the rear. The 6er I'm referencing is a '79 garage queen, the seal just dry rotted on the front side which leads me to ...

Yeah....SHE....the owner's a lady and as I mentioned, SHE seems to know what she's doing regarding leather restoration. If no one answers the phone at first, just leave a message and you'll get a return call quickly.

Hey guys, I've decided to use the sport seats from one of my '85 635's in my '79 633 (m30b35 motor comes later), problem is they don't fit....does anyone know of a source for adapters that might work, I'd rather not try to fabricate anything myself....I can picture me flying out the window at the fi...

need some help with installing e31 wheel/tire set
Hey guys, I just bought a set of e31 (850i) wheels with 245/50/16 tires mounted for my 1979 633csi....I have to clean'em up before I install them on my 6er, however, I think I may run into issues with especially the front tires maybe rubbing the shocks. I already have a set of e31 wheels with 225/50...

e24 bumper tuck
I remember seeing DIY instructions about how to tuck the bumpers on our cars for a cleaner look, but now I can't seem to find the post I was looking for. I have my '79 6er at a body shop for some upgrades now....the owner of the shop has drilled the shocks and was going to shorten the bumpers 1 1/2&...

tire question on my '79 6er - I know somebody's tried this
Hey guys, I have 2 - 235/60/14 practically new tires mounted on the original 14" basketweave wheels from my '79....I know these 235's will work on the rear, does anyone know if 235's will work on the front....even with maybe spacers, without rubbing the shocks?
Thanks

mystery oil leak
Brucey, I'm pretty sure it's engine oil. I had a shop change the oil in this car several weeks ago and I've noticed the oil level on the dipstick is higher than I think it should be - I gave them six quarts and the filter, what I normally use. Wonder if that has anything to do with it?

mystery oil leak on my '79
Hey guys, my '79 US spec 633 has a leak that's throwing me a curve - when I'm backing the car into garage, up a very slight grade, oil is being thrown up onto the hood insulation and dripping as I back the car in, there's nothing leaking under the car. The hood insulation is like heavy-duty tin foil...

Brucey, hadn't thought of trying to make something that would work....now you've got me thinkin it would be worth a try. drivers door lock problem - '85 sixer
Hey guys, I've seen this addressed a year or two back, now I can't find any info on it. A small spring has broken inside my drivers door (part # 51211847131). I can't unlock the door by just stickin the key in and using the central locks, it'll lock, but won't unlock - I have to roll the left side w...

elusive coolant leak on my '85 sixer
Guys, I have a coolant leak, a big one, that I just can't locate. Water or antifreeze just runs right through, problem is that I can't see where it's coming from even though the car's up on jack stands and I'm underneath it. I was driving last weekend and I heard or felt a pop and saw a cloud of ste...
