Re: Weird Transmission Issue

Ok, so nobody ever responded and I'm guessing it's because folks were tired of seeing the same question and figured I should have found a thread with the answer if I looked (which I did and found nothing) or were truly stumped. Either way its fine, it sort of resolved itself. I have an update just i...

Weird Transmission Issue

Hi Gang, I have a really weird one here and I’m hoping one of you experts have either come across this before, or are familiar with this particular issue. My car (like most of your cars) is not a daily driver and hasn’t been one for a long time; she’s a garage queen that only see’s sunny Sundays her...

Thanks guys, as usual you guys rock, and there is no way this car of mine would have ever gotten done without all of you.

Thanks a million.....

Blind Plugs for Dashboard Vent

Hi Gang.... Well, after years of struggling with a cracked dash I've finally been able to cover it up with one of those aftermarket dash caps. The third one was the charm, and even that one had to be trimmed like crazy to make it fit properly. The first 2 I bought were from Carparts.com and they wer...

Re: Dash Cover

It's the same one from JF Customs. I used the Highline cover. It was a lot cheaper though when I bought it. Thanks, you're right. I reached out to them and they explained that the dash would have to come out. I find it incredibly hard to believe that somebody out there doesn't just make either a &q...

Re: Dash Cover

It needs to be glued to your dash. You will also need to smoothen the cracks before you do that. Performing thus work with the dashboard inside the car will be impossible. Got it, I actually looked at your post where you provided a link of the project. It looks great but it looks like the leather k...

Re: Dash Cover

I did the leather cover. A lot of work and you will need to remove the dash for it. So not an option for you I assume after reading your post. Oh that is bad news, I found some online and was considering one but you're saying that the dash has to come off. So, those leather dash covers don't just l...

Dash Cover

So...... I can only imagine that this topic has been brought up 1 million times (and yes, I did a search) I bought one of those Accuform plastic cap covers for a little over $100.00 dollars and yes.....it was an unmitigated disaster... Not happy.........AT ALL :x It was way to big and in the ...

Alternative to Miller Performance for a high performance MAF

Hi Gang, Fist I'd like to thank everybody that's been helping me with my MAF issues. My original MAF works just fine, and honestly there's no need to replace it other than the fact that I'd just like to have something newer that will allow the car to idle more like a modern car and be a bit more res...

Miller MAF Chip Issues

Hi Gang, So I bought a Miller high performance MAF for my 89 and I ordered the 28 pin chip. Gave the car to the garage I use to install everything as I just don't have the time these days to turn any wrenches. Turns out I have the 059 ECU and not the 179 which every microfiche and website in the wor...

Re: Cabin Constantly Hot, Need Help

Thanks guys, All great replies, and I'll check all of these things out and come back with an update once I've had a chance to look at and test these issues. Right now the car is back at my painters shop for the final detail & polish before she gets tucked away in the garage for the winter. Plus ...

Re: Cabin Constantly Hot, Need Help

That sounds like a two person job, one person to turn the knob while the other puts a meter to the tabs in the connecting lead that plugs to the top of the heater control valve. Or clips the leads on (provided one has the clip style) and just position the meter to see it while turning the knob. Am I...

Re: Cabin Constantly Hot, Need Help

Thanks JPS635, The heat control valve I bought was the super expensive BMW original unit, so I'm more than confident that its working properly. I didn't but just the inner valve and repair the original unit, I purchased an entire new unit and installed it hoping that would eliminate all of the hot a...

Re: Cabin Constantly Hot, Need Help

Thanks for the info, but are they located under the dash or where exactly.....

I guess what I'm asking is how do I access the flaps to un-stick them?

Thanks

Cabin Constantly Hot, Need Help

Hi Gang, So, for whatever reason each time I drive the car there is a ton of hot air coming out of the floor vents, even though the temperature controller is dialed all the way to cold. She never did this before and I recently purchased a brand new heather control valve (authentic BMW part) and it's...

Hi Gang, Silly question this evening but I'm in a bit of a jam, and I've already scoured the internet and this forum looking for some information, and I can't seem to find it. I need to know what the thread pitch size is for the bolt & nut that belongs to this little guy....... Sway bar end link...

Re: Wheel Size - Spacer Fitment Question

Follow up to my question..... So as you can all see in the pictures that the wheels are on and (so far) there's no rubbing issues. I haven't had her on the open road yet but a quick test (turning, braking and going over bumps) in the parking lot of my apartment complex proved successful. I have good...

Wheel Size - Spacer Fitment Question

Hi Gang, I have a quick question concerning wheel spacer/tire size/wheel fitment. I’ve made all of my calculations, and I even posted them below as I already know that without this information nobody will be able to give any input. New BBS Wheel Dimensions: Front wheels: 18 x 8.0 9 - 1/8th inches to...

Well yes of course I could do that but I figured I would ask around in here first to possibly get some feedback from people who may have possibly purchased the same or similar device. Plus I get to avoid a salesperson trying to sell me something that I may not need. Know what I mean???

Performance Aftermarket MAF with stock intake bellows?

So next spring when I get into the motor to freshen her up I plan on putting on an aftermarket MAF that will allegedly boost horsepower somewhat. My question is: is there a special intake bellows needed for these aftermarket units or will the stock intake bellows boot be fine. Check out the pics and...
