He likes them slicktops!! Most folks here are not familiar with Adam. He is a US Marine and has the attitude that nothing will get in his way. HOO RAH Adam!! Pics of said other machines please to show others what you are capable of. Thanks. Ralph Thank you for the kind words and encouragement, Ralp...

Soooo, first off, she's obviously gonna need a driver's floor. That should be fun. ... and they're always rustier than you think, so who knows what I'll find in the cleaning / deep inspection phase. Honestly, I'd like to get her a driveline and see how she does before I get too deep on the rust repa...

Project Fuh Raze (White, Euro, Slicktop)

Wellll, here we go! I've been in e28s for 10+ years, only made the jump to e24s recently. My '77 630CSi is too smooth and early to really consider going full crazy on. Luckily, I have plenty of spares to build this car with. I finally found "my" car type: White, Euro, Slicktop 1985 528i, 1...

Very interested.
So if I'm understanding you correctly, you won't have a 'stock' of RHD boxes on a shelf somewhere for quite a while... Right?

How about M boxes? Same concept/service?

You guys never cease to amaze me.
I've worked on this a couple times on my '77, but have been defeated each time.
Can't wait to get home and FINALLY fix this for real.

Thanks again.

When I visited Munich in '05, we stayed south of town in a bed amd breakfast type place. Then did public transportation for sightseeing.
That model worked for a lot of the huge metro areas we visited in Europe.

Lots of unique early interior trim bits that will someday be valuable, but not now really because no one is valuing and restoring early cars. Amen to that. The lengths I had to go to to get early 40/40 lowering springs... I could go on and on. But I feel they are just as great as the e28 based ones...

Well, you are definitely in for it... That better be $free.50. I dig the hell out of those wheels though. If'n you back out, and those really fit, I could be interested. Also, I have a front bumper from my 77. (if you HAVE to stay in the "ur" era for parts...) It's far away, but I find mys...

Re: Oh Jeeze

Do tell more about the rust built in.. Should I walk away and let them keep the deposit? What fresh hell am I in for? I'm mostly joshing you, but they rust pretty good. Just be prepared to get very comfty with your wire wheel, cutting disc, welder, and fave rust treatment. Do you remember if yours ...

I have 5505149. Dec 76 build date.
I met a guy that had a REALLY early one last year at Socal Vintage. Like 005 or something crazy. I can't find the note right now.
Yup, Karmann tag on inside of door opening and free rust installed with every one!

I know that I personally have gotten a lot more choosy about which cars I purchase. For example: the last year, I've been thinking about a sixer to join my 77 in the stable. I had pretty specific criteria for it. Euro, earlier car, slicktop (kicked a lot of cars out of contention). Decent shape. The...

Oh. That's easy. Big huge 'bro truck'. They typically have the really fancy wheels/tires with odd fitment / clearance issues. Hence why you don't see paint on the post.

Thanks for sharing! Also, if you look carefully, you see the center console has the blanks for the front power window switches. Then, you can see the manual winder handle on the door. I wonder if the manual regulators allow the window to retract all the way... This is motivating. Exactly the stuff I...

Okay, well, he had an 002. May give it a try, but prefer one of the ones listed.
I never did think the 001 would work, but found out it did.

Still looking.

Re: WTB: 1977 630CSi AFM

Hello all, Looking for a replacement AFM for my 630CSi. The flap in mine binds halfway through the track, and consequently, will not rev past 2-2.5k. Maddie is 5505149 12/76. According to http://www.firstfives.org/faq/ljet/bosch.html, I can use 0 280 203 003 (stock) and 0 280 203 004 (general purpo...
