Re: Strange Gearbox Problem

Give Neil a ring on Monday at All Gears in Worksop near Chesterfield 01909478581 he will give you the options available. I don't know how available the internals for that box are but give him a call and he will be able to sort you out.

M635csi Highline for sale

The time has come I feel to sell my M6, I am just not using it as it should be used and there is nothing left to do to it. It just sits in the garage, goes down to the BMW show at Gaydon once a year and maybe some other local show. I love to drive this car but every time I put a 1K miles on the cloc...

Re: E24 M6 Gearbox replacement

Sounds like you have a similar problem I had some time ago except mine was third gear.I tried everywhere to get a replacement Getrag 280, no luck. I eventually dropped lucky when I was told about 'ALL Gears' in Worksop UK. They are a family firm that repairs Getrag gearboxes. They do a complete gear...

Re: BMWCCGB National Festival Gaydon 2016

I fully intend to attend again this year, I ordered my ticket last month from the CC but have yet to receive it, must chase it up tomorrow. I think Ted Robinson will also be in attendance.

There is a bit of history to my 280/5 box. After seven trouble free years it developed notching going into third gear, I changed the oil for Redline MT90, after a while the notching progressed to changing down from third to second. I removed the box and it was the syncros that were worn, but also th...

Hi Ed

Thanks for the reply, yes I am trying to keep it original but at least there are alternative options if all else fails. I have not given up hope just yet of finding an E28 or E34 M5 box to take the input shaft out of.

I still have them on mine, I only do around 2K miles a year and they never seem to wear, I also have two spares in the garage.
The cost of replacing them just does not add up for me.

Wow Phillip, your bike certainly brought back memories, I had the CB250 in identical colours back in 1972. I couldn't afford the 750-4 just a dream. I loved the Honda bikes and now I've retired I decided to rekindle my love of motorcycling by purchasing a used Pan European ST1100.
