Re: Central Locking Module

Thankyou both for your replies.

James, the step by step guide as to how to find and remove the module was very much appreciated. It was a bit tough to remove but I managed to remove it after a brief struggle.

Kind Regards

Central Locking Module

Hi,

Can someone advise me of the location of my central locking module on my 635csi 1989. The central locking has stopped operating recently. I have replaced the fuse no 27. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: C4 Permanent Trim Restorer

Hi, I've used C4 trim restorer, it's a little pricey for the small bottle you get but the results are very good. It's not like the usual spray or gels that you get from local car shops. I have found it does last a long time and the trim looks almost like new. a lot of the professional details seem t...

Pod,

Who do you use to carry out the work on your M? I didn't realise it would be that expensive to do a timing chain and guides.

Hi All,

I already own a 1989, 635csi highline auto and am seriously considering this M635csi. What areas would need to be looked at apart from common bodywork rust issues? I have not owned a M car before, so all advice would be welcome.

Starting problems

I have a 635csi Highline automatic, 1989. Whenever I start the car first thing from cold it fires up immediately without any hesitation. However if I go for a drive say 15 mins or so and try starting again it turns over for about 5-10 seconds before it will start. I have just had a full service carr...

Thanks everyone for your replies. Nick you were spot on, I tried what you recommended and the sunroof opened. Now the next question is where can i source a sunroof relay and how to install it as access is limited.

Sunroof no longer opening

Hi Everyone,

My sunroof was working fine up until a few days ago, now all i hear is a click when i press the sunroof switch. What are the likely issues? Could it be a fuse, relay or the motor itself?

Windscreen washer and wipers with a mind of their own

Hi Everyone, When i first picked up my six the drive home was uneventful, other than half way home the windscreen wipers and washer came on without warning. It continued for approx 1 minute after which all was well again. The same thing happened about 4 months later and i had to pull over and stop t...

Thanks for the replies, I've only had the car 9 months and having looked through the paperwork from the PO it looks like he used 10W40 semi synthetic oil. I think I'll use Castrol Magnatec 10w40 unless anyone can think of a reason not to.

Engine oil recommendation please

My car is coming up to 100K miles, it has no leaks and doesn't seem to burn any oil. I am looking for the best oil for the car with consideration to the miles it has covered, all views welcome.

Thanks

Thanks for the thumbs up on the car chaps. I've wanted a six ever since I saw one on moonlighting back in the late eighties. This particular car is a one owner from new, I was lucky enough to snap it up earlier this year. So far all I have done is fit aluminium hubcentric rings with style 5 alloys a...

MY recent purchase 635csi highine 1989

Hope these pics are up on the site now that the new server is up and running. I purchased the cat earlier this year, it's a 635csi highline auto. I've just changed the wheels from original TRX to style 5s. Will post pics of the car with those wheels if weather is good this weekend.
