How does the head unit detect a tape. ( Becker mexico 795)
G'day
Today I removed the tape deck so I could wire in an aux input. But I cant figure out how the cassette is detected so I can switch between FM and the new AUX.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards
Saxon

Re: My e24 ordeal is now seemingly at an end :(
For reference
This was the condition of the car before they got their mits on it, as it needed new wings and had some underbody rust.

My e24 ordeal is now seemingly at an end :(
I lurk a lot but I have moved around a lot from my beloved e24 from the past 7 years. It was my first car, the one that I caught the bug off. , purchased from fritz's bits whilst I was an employee there. It needed a little welding from the start, I knew that. After converting it to a manual, fitting...

Intermittent loss of all steering column controls.
This has happened once or twice over the years but corrected its self pretty quickly, untill the other day where i lost all controls ( indicators, brake lights, wipers, etc) and then 40 min later everything starts working again. If you press the hazard light the indicators do work any ideas?

Honestly a lot of the results were crap because of the autoboxes (not many manual 6ers). By virtue of their design they cant accurately report engine power, you get loss though the coupling of the torque converter. You are going back about 6 years for me so I wish I could tell you but the fritz mani...

Any one got shippers email? I used to live in Sydney and will be heading back with my bimmer soon enough.... I would like to get to 300hp N/A simply because I can, but only if its somewhat drivable. The fritz manifold does give some decent power increases, ( I used to break cars for them) saw more t...

Well i had to use a dyno when i was tuning the ECU. we were getting 230bhp ( cant recall torque figures)... I want to get more out of it without compromising drivaibly too much.. I did an AT to MT a few years ago and also installed an LSD. The car came with a fritz manifold and exhaust system. What ...

Changing the intake manifold.
I am not particularly happy with the performance of the stock manifold ( running stand alone engine management systems no VAF, wasted spark etc) What are your thoughts on swapping the stock e24 ( 1987) manifold with banana style Intake Manifold assembly only that the runners are a wee bit longer but...

Yeah it got expensive. A lot of fabrication was needed and parts needed scavanging. The three day thing has gone to three weeks. At the moment we are waiting for a new igniter because the one that was supplied was DOA. Bill is currently sitting at £3.3... Worth it. No idea but I cant exactly go bac...
