Coolant leak area

Hi guys, In the process of preparing my ‘88 for its winter hibernation, noticed there was some coolant “gunk”under the #2 & 3 exaust port between the head and the block.. Is this a common area for any headgasket leakage? Haven’t noticed any coolant loss, nor any issues with overheating.. ( well,...

Re: Does this look like a 33k mile 635CSI?

Yeah, the underside of that is pretty disappointing...If I was guessing, I would say it was parked in a open barn/car port, non heated and a dirt floor..for a while.... looks like the seasons condensation cycles got to it pretty good... most of it looks like dirt and oil, mixed with some fresh under...

I did find the ones for the blue (ECU) sensor, 3-400 at operating temp, but can not find anything on the other sensor.. got some funny things going on with my coolant temp..actually, I do not get any Ohm value on that sensor,...

Re: power steering hoses

A lot of those pipes are NLA... Unless an M6 is different then an CSI, I was able to get all new hoses, thru either BMW or aftermarket for my '88 a year ago.. If nothing else you can get a hose shop to make you some up... the only one that will be an issue is the one with the restictor in it, nobod...

Re: Seeking advice: 1983 633csi

Just for a reference, I payed $6250 for an '88 with 100k on it, with no rust, in Dayton about 3 years ago. Had extensive maintenance records. Overal condition similar or better than what you described...Came with a bunch of extras..That price was probably on the high side of things at the time, but ...

I bought one of these from Bert a couple of years ago, works like a charm.... run a large Bosch fiter on it ( cant remember the number).... larger filter, probably better filteration and easier to change.... higly recommend one..
