Technique for Changing My Diff Mount

Hi, My 84 633Csi/auto needs a new diff mount. Two possible techiques but I want to know which is best: If I put the rear up on ramps, I may be able to put a small floor jack under the diff to manage it. OR If I put the chassis up on jack stands, that would unload the rear suspension and then use the...

Song,
I haven't done the poly bushings, but you might want to inquire about the effect on ride quality. Here in the Northeast, we don't have smooth roads.

Song, I admire your energy and "get 'er done" commitment. You mentioned in a recent post you've just celebrated your 25th. Big congrats. My honey and I are going on 31yrs. Only my 6'er is older. I followed your A/C refresh but i have to solve a rear suspension problem first (new diff mount and repla...

I was going to suggest an additional heatsink, too. This one works at the original mounting position with a little modification.
Hey Ken,
What is the source and stock number of this heat sink?

Thanks!

Re: My 6'er

Eric, I bought a cross-flow condenser and my next task is going to remove/rebuild the compressor. Weather just got nice enough to work outdoors on my back. I'm not planning to remove the evaporator unless when all is buttoned up and recharged, I'm left with no other choice. I guess I should also loo...

Re: My 6'er

Does anyone have a purchase list to refresh the washer system, particularly the length of the tubing and the number of Oetiker clamps. My chariot is a 1984 633Csi (US version) with NO headlight washing system. Realoem only shows the item # but no quantity.

Nick,
Does the book cover rebuilding the compressor or replacing the shaft seal?

We love those wide open spaces. It's more like lawn envy across neighborhoods, interrupted by rolling automotive art.

With me, it is more an issue of avoiding the winter salt bath as we use a lot on the roads. It takes some serious rain to cleanse the street so that my car doesn't rot away.

In the 50's yesterday and the battery came off the winter maintainer. She started right up and the temp stayed at the midpoint. New the real work begins.

I've used Blue Coral upholstery cleaner. The key is to rinse and use a soft brush to minimize the pilling of the nap. More like blot rather than brush. Worst was my mom's car and she was a heavy smoker. Ugh.

Because nearly all of the chrome has been keyed to help the paint stick to it I'm having to replace it - never paint chrome! I had hoped that the rear bumper would be retrievable but sadly someone has had a go with a sander. These parts almost look very good until you look carefully - if re-chromed...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

I looked longingly at my Garage Queen and the mid-30's temp and hope it warms up soon. I've got some "flat on my back" work to do: diff mount, holey muff and busted pitman arm to attend to.

I've got some of the white fog at the bottom of the windshield. It is either delamination or deterioration of the inter-glass layer. Unless it spreads or is an impediment to a state inspection, just leave it alone.
