Re: Completely confused as to why my engine isn't running right

I would also start with what daz635 said but if that all checks out, look at the AFM again. I had a similar no start issue, and the sweep arm on my AFM was "stuck". I pulled the cover and cleaned the contacts, plugged it back in and it started right away.

Re: Recommendations for ECU repair on 85 M635?

Yes, the second unit is often referred to the "Johnson Box" for emissions. I'm not sure if my car ever had one....the wire from the O2 Sensor just dead ends in the glove box.

Re: Correct Gasket for In-Tank Fuel Pump

Ralph,

Thanks much! That clears up which gasket I should use. So I must have a U.S. fuel tank? The date on my pre-supply pump is 1985 so maybe it was changed when it was imported?? Interesting stuff!

Correct Gasket for In-Tank Fuel Pump

Gents, A while back I started smelling a bit of fuel vapor in my trunk, so I thought that perhaps the gaskets on the in-tank pump and/or sending unit may have dried out and failed, so I ordered the sending unit gasket and 161221116966: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?q=161221116966&series=E...

Re: Recommendations for ECU repair on 85 M635?

I used Specialized ECU Repair in FL a number of years ago: https://porschedme.com/pages/about-us They did a great job. The manager is Jorge Morales. It looks like they might have a reconditioned one in stock for a cool $1245: https://porschedme.com/collections/bmw-m6-1984-1987 I just sent mine to th...

Fuel smell/small leak/pressure in tank after filling

I nearly filled my M635 full with fuel this past weekend (I typically don't fill it all the way up, but I wasn't paying close enough attention), drove for about 15 miles and parked. When I came back to the car, I noticed a fuel smell especially when I opened the trunk, then small amount of fuel unde...

I have one as well and was working with "Arif" a week or so ago to ship to the UK, but the shipping was stoopid crazy $$$. Please let me know if you know of a reasonable shipping method!

I have one....I ran into a similar problem during my respray and ended up with an extra later sunroof. I'll pull it out of the attic (hopefully this weekend) and shoot you some pics.

Re: Value of '88 Zinno/Silbergrau M6

I could maybe talk myself up to $30k, but certainly not $40k. One just sold on BaT for a little over $40k but with none of the issues you cite. The one owner car does count for something, but if that one owner hasn't maintained it well, it kinda cancels itself out. Good luck!

Attn DFW area: '86 635 in salvage yard w/ airdam

I grabbed a few parts off of this yesterday and it's pretty well picked over, but the airdam is still there. The car took a bit of a hit on the extreme left quarter so the bracket is bent, but I think could be straightened. I didn't see any cracks and it looks like it would be serviceable. Someone d...

In the UK there was no "original" radio as the cars came to the dealers without one fitted.

The dealers fitted whatever the customer required.
That's really interesting....I had no idea! Thanks for sharing!

My M635 was purchased in Germany and imported privately to the states when new....

Original Radio for 85 M635

Greetings all! I'd like to find an original radio for my M635...it has a modern CD player and just doesn't look right....but I don't know exactly what OEM was. I have a couple Alpines out of e28's but I believe the M635 got something different....Becker perhaps? My build date is 11/84. Any help woul...
