Re: Contemplating returning to the fold
Thanks both for your thoughts. With so few cars on the market, it’s difficult to get a sense of market value. Are the CH and Hexagon cars priced right? The CH car I see was advertised as far back as 2017, hence me thinking’s its overpriced. The NormansPond car looks interesting at a much lower (curr...

Contemplating returning to the fold
Gents I sold my UK 635csi back in 2014 when my daughter was born, but now considering returning. I have a much worked on 1987 911 Carrera which would need to make way, but the additional seating may sway me towards the E24. If I get the price I’m looking at for the 911, I’d consider an M635. My prim...

Welcome along Alex! Looking forward to your updates as and when you can - fully understand your reasoning behind limiting usage just now. Whilst its idle, may be a good time to protect the underside? I can recommend Bilt Hamber Dynax S50 or UC wax to keep any existing underbody rust in check until y...

sorry to read this have to ask, if nothing was stolen, have you pee'd off a neighbour/local recently?! had a previous car of mine vandalised for no reason - speaking to the neighbour, his cars had been regularly vandalised by someone who had a 'beef' with him at business level and they may have assu...

Ken, the bolts I've seen were only £22 so not worth the hassle of getting blasted etc Chris - thanks, I've used the RAD bolts previously on my old 190e, and they started rusting after a year or so! I'm thinking these anodised ones may be better than zinc coated bolts - http://www.precisionautoparts...

Shirish, you can use the wheel bolts from just about any BMW. Almost all of them use the same thread size (M12 x 1.5) and length, same head size (17mm) and same cone seat face. thanks Ken I was hoping for a tried and tested brand recommendation - here in the UK we have SWAG, Febi Bilstein and many ...

UK E24 wheel bolt source
Folks
Can any recommend a uk source for e24 wheel bolts, other than from BMW?
Lots on the market, eBay etc - anyone recommended over the others.
To be fitted with Genuine 17" Alpinas, if that makes a difference
Thanks
Shirish

I was weighing up an 840 before I bought the E24; I was also comparing it with a 928s2 but I was scared off in both cases by potential horror stories re electrical gremlins - yes,I believed what I read on the internet. Too late for me now, but something like this would have ticked all of my boxes ht...

Problem solved! Thanks to the info on here, I noticed the vacuum hose from the FPR was detached, assuming it's was dislodged when the old coolant hoses were pulled out under the inlet manifold Took the opportunity to renew the vacuum hoses with some 3.5mm ID hoses, car now very sweetly. I'd agree with the advice on trying the nuts before you go all out. A daily soak of Wurth Rost Off or similar for a week or so could be beneficial. One of the studs on mine snapped flush and was pretty much un-pull-out-able, even with a specialist stud extractor called in. So it ended up being a rem...
