Very Little Heat to Passenger Area
Our 8/84-built 633's heating system will barely warm the car. The coolant level is correct. The blower blows like a hurricane. The heater control valve might be suspect EXCEPT that both heater core hoses are almost as warm as the rest of the coolant-carrying hoses. A bit more defroster warm air is e...

Re: Fuse 23 Blows Instantly
Thanks, Brucey. Some of what you suggested may be a bit above my "pay grade", but knowing about the stereo wiring being squashed into a small space with sharp edges gives me a starting point.

Fuse 23 Blows Instantly
Fuse 23 blows as soon as the parking lights are turned on in our 8/84-built 633. It controls the right front parking lamp and right rear tail lamp, instrument lamps, underhood lamp, license plate lamps and rear defogger. I have chased my fail for months trying to track this problem down, been all ov...

Heater Won't Blow Hot
With both HVAC dials turned clockwise and the top and bottom HVAC levers slid to the right, our 8/84-built 633 won't blow hot air out of either the floor ducts or the defroster ducts. Strangely, I seem to get a tiny bit of heat to the floor with the center lever slid to the right. The heater blower ...

Might be, Ken. What is the best way to test for this?

Rumbling Noise Emanating from Rear Upon Take Off
Every time I start out from a stop sign/light in our 5-speed '84 633 lately, I hear/feel a low rumble coming from somewhere beneath and behind me. I have replaced all of the rubber in the rear end (except the control arm bushings), and includes the diff mount. The driveshaft was rebuilt 2 - 3 years ...

Affordable, Available Alternative to Drip Rail Inserts?
The aluminum inserts that conceal the drip rail's retaining screws rarely survive the removal process --- and their price is ridiculous (if you can even find them). So . . . Does an economical, readily available alternative exist? I would imagine that someone somewhere has identified a durable brigh...

baders, I tried the ones from Octane Lighting and they were horrible --- worse illumination than the stock Halogen sealed beams! On top of that, they blew my low-beam fuses. They looked exactly like the ones that you are considering from Powerful UK Ltd; instinctively, I would advise that you pass. ...

WTB Owner's Manual for '84 633CSi
I need a good 633CSi owner's manual (U.S. version) to replace mine which is water-damaged. On the sixth page in (I think --- pages are loose) it reads: Order No. 01 419 760 947 2. edition VII/83 3.0 This is the manual with the nose of a 633 on the cover which appears to be dark brown in color. Does ...

Erratic Low-Beam Headlamp Operation
The low-beam headlamps on my 8/84-built 633 operate erratically. If they come on initially, they will often go out when I switch to high-beam. If I turn them off, they will not necessarily come back on. If I trigger the high/low-beam flash feature (dimmer switch lever pulled all the way toward drive...

WTB (or Borrow) Known Good Bosch 0-261-200-008 ECU
I am seeking a known good Bosch 0-261-200-008 ECU which I can either buy cheaply or borrow to be certain that my ECU is indeed causing my 8/94-built 633's rich-running / poor running problem. It has gotten wet (along with the AFM) and, though I thoroughly dried these and several other components out...

BTW there is no need to put up with weak instrument lighting; the brightness is adjustable anyway, and the bulbs can be upgraded if you want too. cheers Brucey, Does another instrument lamp adjustment exist besides the rotary rheostat in the headlamp switch? I of course have that maxed-out. I alrea...

Where to Buy Adjustable or Hi Output Voltage Reg?
I am tired of dim headlamps and instrument lamps in our '84 633. I know that someone makes adjustable and/or high output voltage regulators for Bosch alternators; where might I buy one to fit the 80A alternator in our car?

Re: How Do I Remove the Seatback "Shell" from the
When I try to "pry" it (with fingers only) over the de-knobbed release levers, it seems as if it might break before the slots get anywhere near clearing the levers. One of the release levers has a screw inside holding it to the frame which, when removed, allows the shell to move sideways ...
