FYI: Found a compatible Distributor series I
My old distributor: 0 237 302 001 PGFUD6 NOS found on eBay: 0 237 304 002 PGFU6 I just had to take it apart a little bit and swap around the plastic connectors to make it fit like before. The new one works great. I swapped out dizzies because the timing light showed the ball wiggling around too much...

5001 standards lights with halogen bulb in center but they have an extra pair of wires for the LED ring that require separate power source. Both leds are running in parallel, same ground . Available at a lot of websites.

Thought I’d share my glass LED lights which are powered through by 12 volts triggered by a 9 volt surface mount relay from the original halogen lights. The relay coil and original running lights and headlights are in parallel. The LEDs need their own ground.

Thanks for curing my paranoia, in my auto repair experience I have seen most old/high mileage dampers simply go limp (no rebound).

Bilstein sieze up question
https://youtu.be/e-uWiBqhrAY
^at about 4:15, he says Bilsteins can sieze up and damage the strut towers.
Has this happened to anyone and is it a characteristic failure mode of most Bilsteins?

Re: TANK custom fuel tank
Appropriately for the year, it's 76 LBS  with zinc plating. This has cost me $715 and will outlast the vehicle. Takes fuel through a 1.5 NPT fitting. A small downside is that it took 4 months for the back and forth with the fabricator as I mocked it up. POR 15 tank sealer. The sides of the ta...

Re: TANK custom fuel tank
Cheaper than Wallothnesch. And more rear weight . Probably slightly less capacity. Petrol weighs 6.3lb/gallon. I'm not worried about the threads ripping out of the nutplates.

TANK custom fuel tank
I'm glad to see this forum is still active and there are people left to offend. The stock tank on my car had inherent design flaws. with 3 bolts mounting the tank at the seams it's only a matter of time before it starts leaking. I could buy a new fuel tank from Wallothnesch but where's the fun in th...

Just pay for shipping, these pads have 75-85% life, (5000 miles of gentle braking). No gouges .
I recently switched to EBC red.

I will send pics if interested. MY car is 1976-series I.

I think it would be a great memorial to restore at least a small section of the art work on the hood.
Just curious, how long was the car sitting? Maybe that caused the bearing failure?

^ I looked it up for you. because i was also curious.
It seems that single row is fine for ye olde m30.
But on the old mercedes sl v8s (3.8 liter) switching to the double row chain is an important upgrade.

On this episode of this old Saab... nah just kidding. Stitching 16 gauge wasn't too bad. I used a Hobart MIG welder with 100% CO2 mentioned in another post. Just some cheesy plates mainly to reinforce that square so I can continue to use it for my "jacking pleasure". https://farm5.staticfl...

Re: Unibody rust weld repair
I'm using POR 15 on the peripherals here. The fender is obviously rotten to the core, but I have this idea of working chain/bar oil into the seam to to treat the unseen . But then top coating it for aesthetics will be difficult. http://www.type2.com/library/body/baroil.htm https://farm5.staticflickr...
