Curious development where the buckle pops open and releases as if mechanism is broken inside. Anyone had this problem?
Ordered new pair from Maximilian and fortunately checked before disassembly and apparently was wrong part.

Here is what I pulled out of the car today. Anyone ever used www.g7computers.com ? They are in upstate New York quoting $250 for the repair.

Recommendations for ECU repair on 85 M635?
My ECU has died. From talking to my local independent mechanic. It looks like the importer in the 80's had installed a piggyback system to get the cat and o2 sensor to operate for federalization purposes. All the emissions stuff has been gone for 20 years and it has a new stock oem european exhaust ...

My headliner in the M635 has a tear in the back corners of the sunroof. Any ideas on how to replace? It appears too long a tear to repair.

Seats don't look right
I agree on whomever mentioned the seats. I have never seen those in an M635. It should not have been allowed if the factory did that.

Trouble shooting dead speedo on 85 m636
So about a year ago I fired the coupe up after sitting through a typically crappy new England winter and I discovered the speedometer was dead. Tach works and so does everything else but not the speedo or odometer.
What should I check and in what order?

Tires and rims for M635
I recently swapped out the trx bbs wheels and tires on my 85 m635. I went with the 17" style 5's off of an e39 w/sport package. Shod with Extreme Contact Conti 225/45-17's they run great and are pretty quiet. Because I upgraded the brakes to an e31 Brembo set up I needed 10mm spacers up front f...
