Re: Group interest - rear light frame seals

I have used fusion 360 to design my future carbon plenum . I can see designing the gasket based on the negative in the light housing as being the best way to initially design it and 3d print it from maybe PLA.. The thickness and measuring the steps can be taken off of a brand new gasket.. just a tho...

Re: Group interest - rear light frame seals

I was thinking about making a light wire perimeter frame to hold it in proper shape, which should give the best 360 scan. The bump created by the wire could be removed once scanned. Another thought was laying it face down on a surface, and make light wire frame ends to hold up the curved parts. Alt...

Re: New Member, M635csi

Looks super tidy, nice work... You might want to replace the old pusher fan for a Spal that has a lot higher capacity. There is a big difference and the cost of the spal fan is negligible. Also, could you possibly show what the upper brackets look like for the parallel flow condenser? Thanks for sha...

Re: 1984 633CSi Rises again!

A "good" radiator shop can pull off the side tanks and look at that radiator and put it back together. Also, might be helpful for the future if you used Evans waterless coolant. If you are pulling the radiator the flush will be very easy... You can even use a wet dry vac to evacuate the entire syste...

Re: 1984 633CSi Rises again!

Have you checked that your fan clutch is fully engaged? Common problem..If not fully engaged its of course not moving enough air.. If its bad may be a good idea to use either a high CFF electric fan on the front of the car (a pusher) or once you remove the fan clutch a low profile sucking fan on the...

Re: Ex LOCUTUS the fun and pain begin

IF you want, and you're not concerned about replicating whats there, you can radically reduce the plumbing - delete the headlight washers - delete the main washer tank - utilise only the intensive washer bottle - delete the other pump and modify wiring, ie connect the old washer pump wiring to the ...

Re: Just registered.

Photobucket started their shenanigans with blurring out the photos, unless you pay a monthly hosting fee. I have since migrated my photos to Imgur which seems to work well for me. I may re-post those Photobucket ones. you can Just edit your posts and repost the photos that way... Anyway..hope you'r...

https://i.imgur.com/Qe6rSEg.png Found the photo I thought I had deleted :) Nice work.. I grappled with how to attack the issue of older ignition that for me is simply weak and unreliable as I plan tot drive quite a bit. For the sake of simplicity (or so I thought) I made a titanium bracket that hol...

M88 head, with a E34 3.6L valve cover, shortened 7mm to fit. Done to be able to use direct ignition. Would you mind showing how you laid out the COP's under the E34 cover? Or more accurately, where did you shorten the E34 cover to make it fit. I’ll have to take some photos of the underside of the v...

Woauw ! For the rear spoiler. A portuguese is building them. http://www.jasacarbon.com/product/bmw-e24-spoiler-rear-2 I got a spoiler from him.. DO NOT buy. His spoiler took 4 times as long as he promised and it was tweaked. I did ask for a Carbon version to be made. I needed to have someone do a l...

Re: Expansion tank level going up...

Thanks TBM! I have dabbled with Evans, the flushing side of things puts me off, but in principle I like the idea of it very much. I've ordered a hydrocarbon tester so within the next few days I will be able to confirm if it's a HG issue. If so it's annoying, but not the worst job in the world. I wi...

Re: Expansion tank level going up...

Randall, These cars also have an issue with the 6th Cylinder heating up more as the engine is long. I had idling heat up issues. You should replace the water pump pulley to a e34 M5 piece as it is smaller and move the coolant faster. It helped my car stay cooler. My area can get quite hot in the sum...
