Brisbane Fuel specialists

Hi All, My 1989 auto runs rich when cold, (real rich) and surges, worse in gear compared to neutral or park. Any good fuel system specialists in Brisbane?
Over the years I've done all the obvious stuff, need some real Jedi level input........

Thanks in advance

Re: September 1988 build. Purchased 2006

Thanks guys. The colour is "Delphin grey", the original colour. BMW Australia sold the e24 until about 1982, then discontinued the model. In 1985, Jim Richards ran a 635 CSi (no, not a M6) in the ATCC (Australian Touring Car Championship), and won the series. On the back of that, BMW Austr...

September 1988 build. Purchased 2006

My daily driver.
One of the last 25 to come into Australia.
Just had all rust taken out (not that much there thankfully), new seals, new windscreen, new paint.

I think it polishes up pretty well..............

BMW Specialist in Brisbane

Tried a few, didn't sort out the more obscure mechanical problems.
Even tried a dealer, I got the impression they weren't really interested.

(Plug for Sterling Auto Electrics at Nundah though, Roger really knows his stuff).

Any tips guys?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the prompt replies...very much appreciated. It's 'closed loop' (O2 sensor & catalytic convertors). I've checked the hoses etc. Actually replaced all the old stuff with new hoses shortly after I got the car. Now, mechanics are well outside my fields of expertise (such as they are), so ...

Surging idle when cold, running ?rich

Hi All, I don't like to beg, but.........I need the Brain's Trust on this one. I've had a 1989 auto since 2006. It has ALWAYS run rough when cold, mainly manifest as a surging idle in drive or reverse, not nearly so bad in Park. Also, the smell of unburnt fuel in the exhaust is very (as in VERY) obv...

Advice re parts Suppliers

Hi All, I've been a lurker here for years, but now need the advice of the collective brain's trust. New parts in Australia are exorbitant, so I get my parts from Pelican Parts in the US. (Good prices, great service, would recommend without hesitation). However, with a change in policy from BMW, it's...
