I just ordered one from ECS Tuning at a cost of $155. Says the part is Genuine BMW made in Germany.
I'm sure I could have searched around and saved a few bucks... but its done and on the way now..

Re: Heater valve
Bert- for the hassle of installing the heater valve due to its imbedded location, I'm down for $145 for a new one. I'd hate to get the leak test wrong and discover it at a later date. I guess I'll visit my local BMW dealer and see if I can order one.

Heater valve
Pretty much trying to replace what I can where I can.... which brings me to the heater valve. I was told that they all pretty much leak and I saw some evidence of a leak stain in my existing heater valve. I happen to have an extra one (pictured) that came out of another car and was not intending on ...

Re: Exhaust manifold
I was able to do a repair on the manifold so at least for now, I wont need a replacement.
I sourced a gasket with the heat shield so I will install that when the time comes.
In the meantime, any input from anyone on the output shaft bellows?

I have been using realoem.com to get the part numbers for replacements. There have been a few discrepancies that I have been trying t...

Re: M90 Engine Or Not?
I located the flat spot above the starter. Grease buildup hid the number. With some effort to reach the area and some cleaning in that difficult spot a number was revealed and a borescope used to see it. Good to see those 7 numbers match the others

Re: M90 Engine Or Not?
1980 WBA53310005590352 I see the raised water jacket and what appears to be paint marks to the right of the '3.5" I cannot seem to find the flat spot above the starter motor to confirm a matching number. Not easily accessible looked on top as well as under the car. Any ideas why I cant seem to locat...

Re: trunk lid drilling for euro spoiler x-post / bFc
Where do you find new mounting brackets and what do you use to re-attach the to the spoiler?
I am refurbishing one that the existing brackets were torn out when the spoiler was removed. I am trying to figure out new bracket and how to apply/attach.
Thanks- Jeff
