Re: m635 Exhaust options
+1 on the Jet Hot coating. I haven’t had the E24 done, but it made a huge difference in underhood temp on my ‘92 Alfa Spider OEM manifolds. Looks great, too, even after several years.

Re: How to chage miles (km) in odometer?
Hi Bert: I did figure it out, and it’s all done. It was a bit scary rolling the first dial and not break anything, but it’s fairly simple once you get the trick. I recall doing this 40+ years ago on an old Smith’s XKE odo, and it was much easier. So, I’m happy it’s done, but now I need to get my ass...

Re: Coping With Loss
Sorry for your loss, but hoping you can do the best you can to get over it and feel better soon. I’ve had a tough one, too, basically being in the hospital most of this year, ut wishing for better next year. The E24 has helped me immensely, as has this forum, and it’s nice to have such a common inte...

Re: Where does jack go?
Looking at it again, the clamp looks similar, but have a look at the two jacks. Mine is a rectangular channel, yours is tubular. I think the clamp has to match the jack. Anyone?

Re: How to chage miles (km) in odometer?
Hi Tony:
I had some time to play with mine this afternoon. It doesn't all make sense, though, what Bavarian says. No need to break any gears, as they can beb removed in a minute or two, but the remote calibration rheostat is a nice idea. I hate sending my parts away, so I'm still screwing with it.

It's just a generic, flexible LED strip - they're all over eBay. Example;

Re: Where does jack go?
Should it go over both the jack and the lug wrench, or just the jack? Maybe I had it turned 180-degrees the wrong way, to cover both? realoem does show it the opposite to the way I tried. And, they show it with the jack crank facing up, whcich is also opposite to the way I have the jack in the compa...

Re: Where does jack go?
Old thread, but I'll post a pic for future reference: https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-LDn5j5J/0/93b63ca2/L/i-LDn5j5J-L.jpg This setup varies somewhat by year. Wheel chock is hidden in the front of the compartment, pinned in place by the jack, and I don't think that's the correct clamp, either.

Re: Jack assembly pics
Of course, my car would have to be different, but I got it figured out. The wheel chock goes in first, toward the front, and the jack pins it in place. I don't think I have the proper clamp, but it works, as long as I use a nut with smaller wings: https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-LDn5j5J/0/93b63c...

Re: Squeaking Dash
My car has a strip of foam across the top of the shifter console, where it interfaces with the bottom of the dash. Looks old, and OEM, but it could just as easily be something from a hardware store.

Re: How to chage miles (km) in odometer?
Thanks, Roger, that's always a possibility, but I almost always like to avoid sending parts of my car away. I've got thhe old US cluster to learn on, so maybe this weekend I'll spread all the parts out on the dining room table and see if I can get it back together. My wide will enjoy that, too

How to chage miles (km) in odometer?
Nothing nefarious, but I bought the correct Euro km clucter for my car, and I'd like it to reflect the correct mileage. The car has 190,000 miles, but the cluster has 420,000 km. The miles convert to ~306,000km, and to me, that's too big a discrepancy. I also have new Garagistic odometer gears for t...

There are at lest 4 types of OEM rear spoilers for the E24, as well as various aftermarket. You should specify which you have.

Just out of curiosity, did you seen the welding machine he was using? Based on that skill level, I would wonder about their body work too. I'm looking for an entry level welding set up and Hornhospital may have the most experience on BC. If anyone else can make some specific recommendations, mostly...

Have you tried this method? It always works for me, but I'm not so sloppy, and I put a hose on the bleeder to collect the fluid.

Re: Wheel Rehab?
The OEM Nissan wheels have a translucent silver over a black base coat, and because of that, they're a b!tch to touch-up or polish once they've been damaged. The silver is extremely thin. You can buy various brands of silver wheel paint that will lookk good, but not original. I'd bet you can do it f...

There are plenty of aftermarket pedals available for our cars, both generic and specific-fit, and I'd like to see some installs.
I really like the ones from this vendor, but they're pricey: http://pedalhaus.com/

Sunvisor Mirror light upgrade
I recently scored a nice set of natur-colored leather visors for my '85, and after dyeing them black with the great SEM products, I wanted to upgrade the mirror light. The process literally took less time than it will for me to type this post. I had been thinking about it for a while, though, and I ...
