Thanks Ron.
They have arranged to borrow one next week and see if it sorts the problem. I will report back.

Re: No Fuel
Still not cured. It runs and drives normally for about 5 minutes then coughs splutters and dies. Indie has suggested it may be the air mass sensor. Any suggestions?

Re: No Fuel
It has just died again and I have had trip to the local Indie on a transporter. This time it had a full tank. I suspect a fuel pump but will clarify when they have had a good look at it.

No Fuel
The sun was out so I took the 635 out for a blast, The tank showed a quarter full but it started to cough and splutter and then stopped. I put a few litres in and it still coughed and spluttered but eventually cleared after a lot of revving and ran normally. Is this low fuel or the old complaint of ...

Keep hanging on in there. I have had my prostate removed in 2002, Bowel tumour removed in 2011, liver tumour in 2012 and I am now 5 years clear and still driving my cars! My advice would be always find the best treatment you can afford. As in all areas there are some who are better than others. When...

BMW seem to have a longer gestation period than most marques before they become collectible. I had a 1971 2002 which I used for regularity rallying. I bought it for £4k and sold it 5 years later for £6k. Four years on it was sold last year for £11k! When I bought it I could have had a TII for a thou...

Re: Brightwells Auctions
I have a theory that cars start to increase in value when the generation that lusted after these cars when they were new now find they can afford them I have always had interesting cars but my E24 attracts more attention than most. Condition is everything as the dreaded tin rust has reduced supply. ...

Re: Brightwells Auctions
They always seem to have a couple of E24s in their sales. Its difficult to comment on the prices of our cars as there can be such a vast discrepancy in condition. They sold a nice 633 a few years ago for about £9k which appeared on a dealer's web site two weeks later for £14,500 and appeared to sell!!

I appreciate the need to retain originality but in the 80's and 90's I bought about 8 new BMW's from a main dealer. Surprisingly none of them came with a radio and you could have anything that fitted in the slot. My dealer always offered a Pioneer or you could go to any ICE installer and take your p...

Re: Programa SI Board replacement
I may need to replace my SI board in my 1989 Highline . The only ones I can see on offer are for 1986 models and earlier. Does anybody know the part number I need and where to get one?
Thanks

Internal Batteries
My OBC and service indicator appear to be suffering from expired internal hard wired batteries, I am based in Cardiff and need to contact someone who can replace them bearing in mind that I am useless with a soldering iron and have no idea as to how to strip down a dashboard!

Chasing Classic Cars
Just had a screening in the UK of the latest episode which featured a 1987 635m with 6000 miles which he sold at Amelia Island for $95000 hammer price. Claimed as a world record. The car looked immaculate and Wayne Carini waxed lyrical about the car and their future classic potential. The only way i...

Re: Outdoor car cover recommendations?
It seems that the problem is the car cluttering up the garden no matter what you do . I am OK for space at the moment but when I was pushed for somewhere to keep a spare car I used to chat up old ladies who had given up driving but still had a garage. I would tidy up the garage and pay a reasonable ...
