Re: 1981 633 csi
Hi Guys, I hope bumping is allowed. I had one member PM me, but seems to have not logged in since. Now that covid restrictions are a bit less at the border I was hoping to open this sale back up. Id like to give this community the chance before I put it in a few more public places. I unfortunately w...

1981 633 csi, Parts Car
Hi Everybody, The rear suspension has finally pushed through the body on my old scrappy 633. It’s a 1981 (type 1) that was heavily modified sometime in the 80s or 90s. I’m looking to sell it for the good parts (see list below). Unfortunately because of my living situation I cannot part out the car. ...

First gen rear push rods
Hi Im looking for two of the push rods that attach the rear axle carrier to the frame for a first gen e24 ('81 633 in Canada). The BMW part number is 33333628172 seen here: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=5235-USA-01-1981-E24-BMW-633CSi&diagId=33_0189 as number 11. I do see them ne...

WTB Rear Lower Spring Perch for e28 based Bilsteins
I'm putting e28 springs on my 81 633's Bilstein's. The shocks that donated the top hats did not have a removable spring plate. I'm looking just for two metal spring plates for the lower part of the rear shock to hold the rubber perch.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Thanks, they have the one for the right side, but not the left. Im not sure its the exact same part, but maybe it can be altered enough to fit.

Drivers (left) Rear Dust Shield - Pre'82
Im looking for part 34211104548. The shop wont put my rear end back together after a wheel bearing replacement since my old one is too rusty apparently. I cant find a retailer that actually has one. Didnt think these would be so rare :S https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=5235-USA-01-1981-...

Hoping to bump; I checked the throttle position sensor, and something seems to be off. https://imgur.com/pZQRD2O https://imgur.com/pZQRD2O In the electrical diagram it says that pin 3 is closed and 2 is open. But on my car this is reversed. This reverse pin out seems to be the case for the cars from...

Re: Rear seatbelt assembly and Fuel Sending unit
Tazzarti, got a fuel sending unit for you =D> This was removed from my '80 in the hopes it would "cure" the erratic fuel gauge response, alas the problem lies in the gauge itself :-? I would presume with virtual certainty that it's still functioning, although I have no way of proving that...

Re: Rough Idle/Loss of power under load [M30b32]
just to be sure, the conventional way of numbering cylinders is from #1 at the front (ancillary belt) end of the engine to #6 at the rear (bulkhead/firewall) end of the engine. In most cases fuel enters the fuel rail near the #6 position and leaves (via the FPR) at the #1 end. There should be a cop...

Re: Rough Idle/Loss of power under load [M30b32]
if the cylinders with low pressure were neighbouring cylinders, it might be that the head gasket was starting to blow, cylinder to cylinder, rather than just worn rings or something. The compression figures may have become worse with use regardless of cause, so check them again, If the idle is terr...

I ground down the cheap wrench I had and it was fairly easy to remove. Found out my my connecting rod nuts were basically welded on with rust. Needless to say Im now waiting for the ST Suspension 52015 kit to arrive.
Thanks everyone for your input!

Thank you all for the feedback. My car is far away and I drive my tools in so I didnt have a ring wrench when i looked at her last week. This week a bought ring wrench, and the 17 mm wrench in the tool kit is a 17-15 open end that would not fit. With the wrench i bought I was able to get one side of...

I just want to replace the rubber mounts on my front stabilizer, but I have no clue how to access the bolt. There is a diagram on page 31-15 of the repair manual but all they say is to undo the bolt. The problem is that its sandwiched behind the bushing and under a frame rail. I wasnt able to even f...

Re: WTB Radiator
Tazzarti - your car has the early style / design radiator for E24 fitted to 9/82. From 9/82 there was a different design. If you have a manual gearbox your rad part number is 17111121296 if your car was produced prior to 9/82. Check out REALOEM website with your VIN number. Great reference. I'm gue...

Re: Continuation of a trailer full of parts
Is there still a radiator up for grabs? Yes but I think shipping to Canada will cost a few $$. I am willing to ship there but if you have a US address to ship to it would be easier on you. Thats true, someone informed me that there is a cheap one of FCp euro (didnt show up when shopping for an 81) ...
