Re: BRAND NEW Billy Boat Cat Back Norcal - 700$

Also curious on PTFunk's question. Could possibly pick up, but from Seattle it will cost me some pennies.

As far as I know there are two euro spec motors, a "green" lower-compression motor with output similar to the US B34 and a "dirty" high compression motor with output similar to the US B35 (except more dirty, I guess). I don't know how to confirm one or the other visually, but I a...

Curious about the installed and spare diff (ratio? what's the metal tag say?) and the spoilers.

More specifics about the engine and transmission on the car may be interesting too.

My own 6er sat for five years just a little outside of Seattle. It did take little more than a fuel pump relay to get it running again. Then of course I had to sort out the reasons it was parked in the first place. A few days later I drove it to new england. Now I've got a new job offer, and thinkin...

Keene NH (US) 86 635CSi parts available

Mostly the body and associated hard parts are available. I have stripped much of the interior for my own purposes. It's a black car with manual transmission. Was hit in the rear and repaired but poorly (bondo flaking off above both rear wheels). Engine burns coolant. Doors and side windows are good,...

Blue seat covers? Those look nice and I think they'll fit the power seats in my '85. I would be happy to pay the shipping on those to 04102.

Thanks for the link, but the content is unavailable to me at this time (and probably most of us) due to the user's security settings.

I am curious about these cars, I did read on MyE28 that there are a couple nice euro 6ers in the mix.

I don't know about best, but I was pleased with how these turned out. I bought these from a bigcoupe member and the prior wheels were ... an interesting period piece.

Re: Early Euro rear glass - Bronze

From a 1980 628i I parted. Still parts left, including this oddly colored rear window. Anyone else seen Bronze factory tint? I think the bronze tint was normal for euro cars even possibly through 1984. I know my '84 745i had it, and I could only find green tinted glass to replace the drivers window...

They'll say max pressure, which you can really keep them inflated near if you choose. I find that the car's recommended pressure is nearly always too low for a spirited driving style considering tire wear. Of course that all assumes there's nothing more you can do to tighten up the front suspension ...

Don't run me out of town for saying it, but I think the stanceworks board might be very helpful for this, there's surely someone who has tried to fit similar wheels and knows about what you'll run into. Edit: found this link there, might be very useful to get a general idea of what to try next: http...

Just an update while I wait for a server migration running in the background. The car required a fuel pump relay to get firing again. Before that it needed fuel, the tank was nearly empty. http://i.imgur.com/CctQl9ol.jpg So while in Seattle I did the following repairs: New battery Replaced dead fuse...

The Guibo was NOT fine. So I replaced that along with the center support bearing, and it no longer sounded like someone was trying to get out from underneath the car. BTW the arrows on the guibo point alternately to each face of the guibo. Match them up to the driveline part you're bolting...

The Guibo looks just fine. I have to guess it's either the center support bearing or the u-joint (driveshaft) otherwise.

Except for the driveshaft and tires, the car is nearly usable.

WTB driveshaft, wheels and tires for 85 635csi manual in PNW

Trying to see if I can get this car ready to drive back east in the next few days. I think a good driveshaft is needed, the one in the car sounds like it's trying to escape from underneath. Wheels and tires are also desired -- some kind of brake upgrade dictates that they'll be 16" or larger. I...

I got my ticket to fly out and work on the car. If all goes well and it holds up during a few days of Seattle traffic, I'll probably drive it back east. I'll surely have a few questions for the BigCoupe crowd. Any of you know if there's a rear cigarette lighter on a US '85? I didn't look closely at ...
