As stated, the thread is 8 years old. You're not going to do much good. Better to post a new thread in the Car and Parts wanted section.

Re: Driveline upgrade M635csi

Nice Gaz ! I prefer the 3.07 behind my dogleg and S38B36 as she has plenty low down torque and very quick top end :) Looking to also correct rear camber since the suspension upgrades, just need to sort out how best to do it.

Re: location of ABS fuse M635

Are your rear brake lights working ? If so, the fuse is good so most likely not a fuse. The ABS hydraulic unit and control unit are not fused. Is the ABS function working ? Wasn't there a whole thread on BC about ABS ?

Those resistances look fine. Remember though that your ignition system is high voltage, so using a mere multi meter may not show up insulation breakdown. If in doubt, replace them.

Check valves are on all windscreen washing systems. Otherwise the water would drain back out of the tubing to the reservoir.

Re: 1985 635CSi - Crank, no start problem

The OBC can be coded with a number you enter as a security feature. You enter the number which drives the OBC relay closed to operate the main relay. The relay box is just a relay box.

No worries ! Just throwing this out there; Are you sure the OBC and relay unit is not just doing its job ? That is, is it coded off ?

Was the new seal an OEM or OE item ? Are you sure the installation was done correctly ? No aspersions, just that it's easy to stuff up this job. (Ask me how).

Edit. Sorry was this gearbox or diff ? I was referring to diff. If gearbox ignore me :)

Re: auto/5sp swap final drive ratio recomendation

Depends on your driving requirements and vehicle specs. As I have 265/5 dog leg and S38B36 , and love highway/country driving, I chose to stay with the OEM 3.07. Loooooong legs ;)

Re: What are these connectors for

The black plug with green wire will be an ignition switch start/run feed. This goes to numerous things like fuse box (for power distribution), OBC, charging system indicator, ABS system, and power windows. If everything mentioned is working on the car I wouldn't be too worried about the plugs.

Re: What are these connectors for

The white connector will be lighting of some kind. Can't quite make out the other wire on the white connector. If it is grey red then that white plug is lights. Things like all the dash lights, cigar lighter light, visor light, light switch lights, fog light switch lights, hazard switch lights, OBC ...

Start Input on pin 4 - measured 0.07V with key in ON position. 9.66V with key in start position cranking engine.
That voltage seems low to me and should be around 12v in start position. There could be bad or intermittent contacts on the ignition switch.

Re: Idling/stalling issue - '89 635csi

This is the applicable paragraph from the Bosch Motronic Guide by Hi Performance Store; If you have a 528e with Motronic 1.1 or a 535i you are looking for a slightly different set of values. With a coolant temperature of 12-16F (-9C to -11C) resistance between the two terminals should be 8200-10500 ...

Re: Stranger starting issue once warmed up, please help?

When it wont start, does it fire a few cylinders and then die, or does it not start at all? Does giving a little throttle help? How does it run otherwise? and how is the idle? It could be the idle control valve staying open, or possibly another vacuum leak. Another phenomenon is a heat soak where t...

Sounds like you're on the right track. I would conduct some point to point continuity testing of all of the ECU wiring to the plug, whilst at the same time moving it to find any faults.. I'm afraid you or someone is going to have to get under that dash and pull the Motronic plug. Other things to che...
