Re: Exciting times, getting ready to retire!!!

Hey congrats Bobbo ! I'm 55 and starting to think about it, probably in about 5 years. People ask me what I would do to fill my time. I just giggle and grin :)

Re: Scissor hoists

I ended up going with a Quickjack due mostly to lack of space and height in my garage for anything else. Super impressed with the quality of gear and instructions.

Did you replace the relays dks ? Could be high resistance across the contacts.

Great work BW ! Waiting on the vid. I just noticed that the intake horns on the M88 are metal whereas my S38B36 are plastic.

Ahhhh sad news Paul. Always enjoyed your posts. I do understand about losing the drive to keep on with these things as it can be sooooo frustrating on occasions. Good luck with the sale mate, I hope you call in here sometimes <S>.

Re: A/C abilities

A new parallel flow condenser is a cheap way of increasing performance and these systems need all the help they can get. Think I paid around AUD$30.00 for my 16 x 19" version. You do need to modify brackets however and perhaps the "pro" is balking at that ? At the very least, he should be looking to...

Re: A/C abilities

baders, Thanks for the links to Songs and your air conditioning forum links. Plenty of reading. I've been thru a similar lack of performance with my earlier Volvo 242 upgrade where the standard components were suitable for Sweden, not Aus, still I was able to get it operating reasonably using the s...

Re: A/C abilities

The standard system is somewhere between reasonable and inadequate, especially using R134a as opposed to the original R12. I am currently upgrading my system to a parallel flow condenser and 7 piston Sanden compressor. Highly recommended is Rob Siegel's (Hack Mechanic) most excellent book, Just Need...

Thanks for that. I've been using FCPEuro for some 5 years now and have always enjoyed excellent service, with me, living at the other end of the Earth from them. Highly recommended.

No problem. It has to do with legal beam pattern according to ECE and Australian Design Rules. Throw pattern is different left compared to right hand sides.

Re: Ex LOCUTUS the fun and pain begin

Hi mate. Yep some progress. I bought a Quikjack which I was waiting on arriving. I've set it up now and have easy under car access. I finally did that coolant flush but the block drain plug was a mutha#$##$$%@#$$$##%$!! bitch. I could remove it easily enough with 2 universals, extension bar and sock...

Re: Headlights and winscreen rubber

baders - you wouldn't happen to have the delivery docket for the lights. I've been onto both sites and the descriptions are not very clear and don't appear to have any reasoning as to why the lights are different drivers to passenger sides. Lights vary according to if it is RHD/LHD right or left si...

It appears that Genuine Parts GmbH still have all 4 lights for RHD available;

https://www.originparts.de/

I bought all my lights from them 3 years ago. Prompt and reliable service.

Use RealOEM for part number reference;
