Re: Flywheel position sensor connections

First question is, does the car run ? The speed sensor reports engine RPM to Motronic ECU. It normally has a black plug. The reference sensor determines crankshaft position and is normally a grey plug. Yours have been replaced, so it may be a matter of tracing (belling out with multi-meter) back to ...

Re: mwrench subframe fix.

Good idea. Gaz, Shipper, anyone else from Oz interested ? Sorry. Missed this. What does the kit do and if it’s worthy put me down for one if it’s not too late. Thanks. Gaz, this is the steering bracket re-inforcement kit. It's a high stress area that quite often breaks on our cars. You can find goo...

Re: 2018 projects

I'm looking to push on and complete LOCUTUS this year. About 95% complete right now. This is my S38B36 swap. Have completed the ABS relocation and tested my engine harness modifications. Am getting fuel, spark, and injector pulses on turn over. O2 sensor should be arriving soon and will need to weld...

Re: 633CSi Turbo - Not a Callaway Anymore

I'm following this Ted as there is some very valuable information here regarding supercharging/intercooling. I'm in a feasibility study right now regarding a little E46 M3 project I hope to get off the ground.

I am amazed. Things went so well they sent me home the same day! And Kathy is doing much better! Off of Oxygen this morning, transitioned to oral anti-clot drugs. May come home tomorrow! Thank you so much for the prayers! The pathology on my surgery will be back next week, and I'll get this wonderf...

Very sorry to hear that Ken. Wishing a swift recovery for you and wifey. My father has also just been diagnosed with bladder cancer. They say it is eminently treatable.

Driving a nice car on a nice road trip sure has therapeutic properties. Next week I'm heading down south to see my daughter in Albany for Xmas. Will be driving my E46 M3. I can't wait ! Just having your health is a very good start. With good health you can always move on to bigger and better things....

Re: Interior dash light Binncle light not working any help

You should put the car information in your signature. It helps us help you :) You should also download the appropriate Electrical Troubleshooting Manual from here; http://wedophones.com/Manuals/BMW/ and learn to conduct a systematic testing process. Do you have a multimeter ? Looking at the ETM I ca...

The same controller is used for both the heater blower and A/C. Beg, borrow, or steal a DC clamp ammeter to measure current the motor is pulling.

Re: '87 M6 oxygen sensor - what does it do?

Sorry, but if your car hasn't been on the dyno how do you know power output ? I'm just confused. Where are those power output figures coming from ?

I'll check the other thread. Struggling with vision at the moment as just had laser eye surgery :)

Those 3 cars have been on the market for a while, now a fourth.I'd not seen one come up here for a long time. Owners thinking it time to cash in no doubt.

Re: '87 M6 oxygen sensor - what does it do?

The car will run OKish without the O2 sensor. You are not clear in what you are saying they did. First question to ask (or research) is if the WAR chip operates in closed (needs the O2 sensor) or open mode (does not need) ? I'm not familiar with Miller chips. The other question is what machine did t...

Re: What do I want off an Australian b35 for my b34?

My honest opinion is that that's a lot of work to do for a little gain. Are you doing this yourself or paying a shop ? Probably OK if you're DIYing it. What I decided to do was find a good S38B36 and drop it in my 1986 635csi. A lot of work (and still not finished), but a lot of gain over the M30. T...

Re: '87 M6 oxygen sensor - what does it do?

Shop A/F ratio machines have a probe which inserts into the exhaust. The O2 sensor reports to the ECU and as a closed loop, controls engine A/F ratio to about 14.7:1. The throttle position switch tells the ECU to ignore the O2 sensor at full throttle and idle.
