Re: Low Mileage 635 on ''Collecting Cars''

When I first saw the advert, and without looking too closely, I assumed it was yours, Olympia57.

I mean how many of those can there be in Ireland??

Re: All good things must come to an end...

Linux, LAMP, phpBB3, DNS? If I had the faintest f*****g idea what you were talking about Brian, I would be screaming at you to send it my way. I would be lost without this site, and I genuinely believe that this the safety and survival of E24s worldwide is less secure without it. Somebody, please?!!!

Re: Are these original wheels?

Many other E24 owners at this point opt for BBS RC wheels. These 2 piece split rims (as opposed to 3 piece) are very similar in style, were found on later BMWs (E39 5 series & E31 8 series), and are available 17” and 18”. They’re often to as “Style 5s”.

You’ll have no trouble finding them on eBay.

Re: Are these original wheels?

Yep, those are the standard wheels. They’re not worth much money because there’s only one tyre that will fit (Michelin TRX GT) and they cost about £400.00 each. Expensive, but readily available from Blackcircles and Longstone Tyres. Because of this prohibitive tyre cost, many people opt for an imper...

Re: All good things must come to an end...

This is desperately sad news. Whilst it’s easy to bemoan the loss of such a great resource, I have to take stock and firstly remember what a great place this forum has been. I am fortunate that it’s been available to me, so thank you Brian. Gotta respect your decision to do what you feel right, but ...

Re: Are these original wheels?

The only 3 piece split rim BBS RS wheels fitted to a 6 series in the U.K. were the metric sized (415mm diameter) 007 variant. Only the M635CSi had them fitted as standard, and only for the first 9 months (approximately) of production, when they were recalled in, scrapped, and replaced with a single ...

Nice, but shouldn't the electric seat controls on this Highline car be located on the side of the seat bases adjacent to the door sills?

I thought that only earlier cars had them next to the handbrake......

Re: UK M635CSi #500 fs on eBay

#500 is back up for sale. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1226426 Looks nice. But I cannot help but wonder if £48k is an ambitious figure for a 153k mile car. It makes the similarly priced #250, with a 100,000 fewer miles, seem a relative bargain, but then that car has remained unsold and on th...

Re: Which M635CSi do you prefer. S2-based or Highline?

When I bought my first M635CSi (an S2) so many years ago, I would frequently lament that I didn’t own the more contemporary and modern bumper treatment of the Highline cars. I longed to replace mine with a later, more “fashionable” model. However when the time did eventually come around to changing ...

Re: UK M635CSi #091

I'm told the car still has the Pine Green cloth interior throughout.

I'm glad to hear that's the case. Personally I think it's a great colour/material combo, and not just because it's rare.

Wonder what happened to that £4k re-trim?

Re: UK M635CSi #091

There is a strong and enthusiastic E24 owners group from Thailand on Facebook, called "Shark Squad". A member posted some images of the car on their group page. Re: UK M635CSi for sale on ebay- low mileage

I have not seen it for a couple of years now, but when I did so, it was just after the current vendor had bought the car (for a bargain price) following a long period of storage. I felt then the car was an excellent, original, low mileage, unmolested example, needing nothing else than a thorough cle...
