New muffler is too loud.

Hey guys so i had a new ANSA muffler installed on my 81 628csi after some pipe modifications. The oem euro muffler is special order and costs over $375. Its amazing how much junk was in the original 36 year old muffler. The car definitely revs alot more freely , it can now breathe. Unfortunately it ...

What im beginning to realize is that the blower just sucks really bad, it barely blows air out the vents if at a stand still. Once the car gets moving i get more air coming in. There has to be a retrofit blower motor out there...

Re: How much Freon do i need?

Thanks again.. I brought my car over to the A/C tech over the weekend. I told him that it may be overcharged. He evacuated the unit, pressurized it and recharged at about 1.6 pounds. I just wish it blew out colder air. He did say the low side is at about 50. I thought 200-225 high side and <40 low ...

(2.15 pounds x .9) = 1.94 - .25 = 1.69 pounds R134a

Thanks Dean. I will run this by my A/C guy and see where we get at.

How much Freon do i need?

Hey guys, how much Freon will my 81 628csi need? just about all my cooling parts are new, but i think my system might be over charged. I would think it should be the same for all pre 82 cars right? If anyone has the sticker indication on the car can you please let me know. Thanks guys. :D

Re: Correct A/C drier

I think any one you can get to fit, would be the correct one. The variability will be in the size and placement of the fittings, but inside they're all the same. The cars with the rear a/c need the drier with the extra volume, but that's not an issue in the single a/c cars. Most of the ones you'll ...

Re: New A/C compressor fittings dont work with existing hoses

I understand the expansion valve hose/fitting is #6, Compressor to the evaporator is #10, and the rest is #8. Do these numbers apply to both the hose and fittings?

Re: New A/C compressor fittings dont work with existing hoses

Over the weekend i took some time to stop by two shops. One shop just custom makes hoses, he quoted me $240 for 4 hoses, so thats 8 fittings. Another mechanic shop quoted me $300, and another $150 to install the hoses. I just calculated the cost if i wanted to buy everything it would cost roughly $1...
